Art can be described as the way in which humans apply their creative skills of imagination in various ways for instance through imagination, and this can be done either on the things which can be observed through painting or sculpture. An artist is an individual involved in the practice of these art activities. Notably, artists can present themselves in different ways; it can be through songs, poems, plays, and drama or fiction movies. During such participation, the artists may portray their identities in a variety of ways for example they may depict their culture in their writings. In this essay, I would talk about how Langston Hughes in his poem titled the Fine Clothes to the Jew refers to his culture the treatments that he received being a black man.
The above name poet was disliked by many due to the poem that he wrote which I can say was misunderstood by many. He derived it from the time he observed the indigenous people making clothes, he had seen them pawning their clothes, and during that period the clothes making shops were owned by the Jewish people. His poem showed how the clothes industry ignored him based on being a black person. It is also evident according to his theme where he stated that black is beautiful greatly shows how he valued his culture and thus presented them on his writings ( Frost, 2010).

As seen in most of his writings he started writing at times when having a black pigment was like a curse, but he had the wit and intelligence to articulate his issues well so that they could be understood. This made him survive in a white society. In most of his writings, he has brought into account the frustration and the hardships of a black life ( Ward, 2015).
It is evident that most writers offer references to their poems or books involving their culture and sometimes their gender or their surroundings. All these happens to make the scripts more appealing to the readers. It also makes them have a wider view of the race or the individuals under discussion.
