Response to Heather

This post by Heather is a clear indication that scriptures and research are related to a larger degree in terms of what they pertain to pursue. Scriptures just like research are about pursuing knowledge, as it is integral to people’s lives. This post is quick to point that while science and scripture cannot be mixed, research can derive from the scriptures, in particular, the post concentrates on two scriptures, which calls upon individuals to seek knowledge. The two scriptures that are drawn from the book of Proverbs indicate that individuals who are discerning are those that seek knowledge. In the same way, those individuals who conduct research studies are keen on clearing myths so that they can have firm and solid evidence about a phenomenon. Essentially, the post establishes the connection between research and scripture in that scriptures are there to encourage individuals to explore the best in them, this form of exploration can be seen in research work where individuals pursue knowledge and thus build on their discernment.

Scriptures are a guiding light that establishes that God would like His followers to have a clear understanding of several issues in modern society. The post emphasizes this proposition by quoting Proverbs 17:24, which indicates that hasty feet may miss the way. This scripture can be interpreted to mean that one needs to make careful thoughts before making a decision. In the same way, an individual who wants to make a finding must reconsider all the data before declaring a theory or a phenomenon. At this point, one can clearly establish that it is the will of God for people to examine their world by gathering ample information. Without this form of information, it is possible to be lead astray something that does not reflect the will of God. Overall, the post does a commendable job in creating a connection between scriptures and research though viewed as conflicting concepts.

Response to Jessica’s Post

This post by Jessica goes straight to the point in that research is an endeavor that is supported by the scriptures. According to Jessica research should be a personal undertaking with the aim of ascertaining whether the things one hears are true or not. The assertion is exemplified by focusing on whether it would be wise to just take what the pastor saying without going to an extra mile to confirm for oneself. At this 0point, one cannot help but wonder how many people have been misled simply because they are complacent with what they hear. Jessica just like Heather asserts that it is not good to be ignorant about the things of God. While quoting from Proverbs 19:2, the post establishes that individuals who hurry trough things are destined to make errors. It is for this reason then an individual ought to carry out in-depth investigation s to ascertain phenomenon instead of seeing it at face value.

The post enforces on the need to seek knowledge by focusing on yet another verse in Proverbs 17:24. According to this verse, wisdom is at the center of those individuals with an understanding of their surroundings. On the other hands, individuals who lack knowledge are considered as fools who might well be on their way to destruction. At this point, one cannot fail to realize that God wants people to be knowledgeable so that they do not buy into anything that comes their way. This post retaliates that pursuit of knowledge through research is important as it helps individuals to have good judgment. Moreover, it is possible that this form of knowledge could be passed onto other people thus benefitting a lot more people.
