Computers are the backbones of information technology which has profoundly influenced our daily lives. Their intricate interaction with daily processes in the human lives necessitates diversification of learning needs. Computers are ubiquitously applied in many organizations, such as hospitals, universities, and businesses among others. Coupled with mobile devices and the internet, wireless electronics are positively changing the scope of computer science. Therefore someone who is unable to operate a computer system has a considerably hard time in life. Personally, the computing education has incredibly changed my life as explained in this paper. I am proficient with Microsoft office suite that includes Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. With my computer literacy, I can comfortably use the programs. Additionally, I am familiar with organizing and analyzing large sets of data which could be used to create functional spreadsheets. I also have a lot of experience in photo and video editing software. For instance, I can use both the iMovie and Adobe After Effects to edit short promotional videos. I am able to set up a company's email system, as well as to decide on the social media platform that best suits a company's marketing as far as my literacy in blogging is concerned. About the increasing PC environment in which we live, various jobs require software development. I am dubious in software and hardware development and design, which is needed by software analysts, developers, programmers, and architects among many others. Using a computer is one thing, the ability to fix its problems is another. I have some IT troubleshooting skills such as backup management, client support, configuration, installation, networking, system administration, as well as diagnostics. Computers have enormously transformed my world. Learning is no longer limited to classrooms, computer technology has brought in distance learning through networking. Also, it is more convenient to store information in computers than note-books which are hard to maintain. The computer saves on paper. It has facilitated an effective presentation of information as well, through the animation and PowerPoint software. However, I am partly disillusioned by the current IT world for those who are computer illiterate, especially in troubleshooting skills. There is nothing worse than lack of knowledge in the face of a critical situation while you are alone in an office. Various professional fields such as engineering and medicine require troubleshooting skills in the current evolving technology. In conclusion, computers play a vital role in both personal and professional lives. They have various uses in education. The current economy is technologically oriented. It is not a surprise that computer-literate employees fare well in the job market than their counterparts.
