How was the Civil War a result of the social and political failings of the Founding Generation?
Slavery was the main social issue which contributed to the civil war. There was fallout on the issue of the slave which created tension and resulted in war. For instance, the northern state was against the slavery and had an intention of doing away with it. Contrary, the southern welcomed slavery and could do anything to remain with the slaves. The slaves who were highly oppressed in the southern state seek refuge on the northern side where they were welcomed. The American constitution made it clear that such slaves who ran way and seek refuge on the north were not to be forcefully returned to their masters in the southern state. The southerners felt that this was against their rights as they claimed that slavery was a state right. The Southerners claimed that the northern actions of not allowing the slaves who escape to the north return to their masters on the south were against the state right. This brought about the disagreement between the two states which eventually led to civil war. For this reason, there is no wrong doing when it is claimed that civil war broke off due to a misunderstanding of a social issue such as slavery. The best side of the story is that the northerners won the war; we still do not know what would have happened in case the Southerners won.
The political fallout was one of the major causes of the civil war ( Kramer, 2014). There were thirteen colonies which ganged up together to form a powerfully central government. Another main significant agreement among the colonies was autonomy to air their voices on issues which matter on their internal affairs. Also within the agreement was the assignment of a deal which states that each colony will have equal representation in the Congress. The colonies later realized that this agreement could not be honored. The constitution mandate full power to the central government. According to the constitution, the central government has all powers. Individual colonies were only given mere rights in the Congress, and the central government was given the power to meddle in their internal affairs ( Kramer, 2014). The colonies were not happy with this issue. They plot a move to overthrow the government that they felt betrayed them. This lead to a revolution in the country hence civil war broke. For this reason, the political fallout was one of the major factors which lead to civil war.

How could the Civil War be considered a second American Revolution?
Revolution is a general war within a country where the parties involved have two different interests with one part tries to overthrow the existing government in a country while the other party tries to retain power ( Kramer, 2014). There are many ways in which the Americans civil wars could qualify to be a second revolution in America. The main reason was due to some social factors. For instance, the civil war was caused by the issue of slavery. Many people were against slavery since it was oppressing many innocent individuals and led to death. One example of such leader was Abraham Lincoln. This lead to the formation of many coalitions to gang up against the government to overthrow it and make sure that slavery was abolished in the USA. Following this channel, this reason could make the civil war a second revolution.
Also, the main attempt to overthrow the government by some leaders who tirelessly fought slavery can qualify the civil war as a second revolution ( Kramer, 2014). In a revolution, the main aim is always politicized. Politics always revolve around revolution with the main objective to overthrow the existing government. In case this was the objective in civil war, then it automatically qualifies to be a second revolution. For instance, Lincoln together with the political colleagues was against the slave trade in America. For this reason, they thought good to abolish this act and restore humanity. Lincoln confronted both north and south states to join hands to stop slavery. However, the northern state agreed but not the southern state. The southern state felt oppressed and broke away from the group. This did not impress leaders from the north state and individual such as Lincoln. The southern state decided to name their state the Confederation State of American. This was made with the main aim of overthrowing the Lincoln team in ordered to overthrow the government. Though the northern side won the war in 1865, Lincoln was assassinated. This is one way that can qualify civil war to be a revolution.
Another reason which could qualify this war to be a revolution is the large number of people it displaced from their homes. Also, during the war, many people were killed leaving their families behind. The famous person who died during this war was Lincoln. There was internal and external migration among people in America. Many people left their homes and never looked back as asserted by Kramer (2014).
