  Set Design

The director combines up-close and background features to capture thematic aspects of the view. In capturing detailed aspects of the inner attributes of the houses upfront, against the backdrop of urban city skyscrapers, the director brings out the effect the outside has on the inside in regard to characters in this film. The persona of each character heavily contributes to the character of the city and how it is perceived as it regards to its influence, success, and its failures.

Lighting

The director employs light to highlight those important aspects of the film against those that help improve those particular aspects the director wants noticed. The director employs bright light on the foreground, to highlight the importance of the specific details of the houses and the busy lifestyle that characterizes the scenery. They also use bright background lighting to highlight the importance of the background as it relates to the foreground and the interaction between the two.

Space

The scene captures a compactness that cramps everything into an already overcrowded space. This allows the director to bring forth the notion of societal amalgamation that allows different cultures to interact with each other and thus the lack of individual space. This lack of space highlight the importance of each object within the scenery as it relates to the object next to it, and how this interactive nature gives the overall scene its unique character of a busy and complicated lifestyle. The lack of space allows the director to capture the unique attributes of those involved and how they interact with their immediate environment.

Décor

The director uses dark background colors to bring out the bright colors used in the foreground, in an effort to highlight the massive effect the background has on the foreground. It is almost like the foreground is in danger of being engulfed by the looming dark and hellish background. This creates a sinister outlook that demands the audience to take note of the background despite the promising foreground.
