I do accept myself for who I am and even for my family regardless of what others would think of them. I also do take time to evaluate all the acts that I do in my life. For instance, I do have self-abasement such that if I do anything wrong to another person I feel sorry for him or her and I do everything it takes for me to have the situation corrected once and for all. However, I also like relating myself to prominent people such as popular music artists or leaders who I try to lead my life in a similar manner or way. I also like taking exercises, and I have enrolled in a gymnastics class where I do have an instructor to help me keep my body fit and not grow fat as they are always stigmatized in my residential area as well as some social areas.

I do like hip-hop music. In this source, I do believe that the ladies have been greatly sexualized and have been presented in a manner that makes them appear to be weak. They have been presented as inferior beings to men, and they always obey all that the men say particularly on sexual matters. For instance, am a great fan of the great Nicki Minaj, who expresses her feeling for men through her lyrics but I always feel the sensation of the dress. This dressing code I believe has been made to impress the many young men who have feelings for her, and they keep admiring her. I think this is sexualization of the women in the songs and it is something that is bugging me and has to change. On men’s part they have been made to be the dominant group, extremely masculine. This has been done by making most of the artist to have a lot of material wealth like cars and money, as well as bling which makes them to have an I deal that they can have any lady they want in their life. In hip-hop, the women have been pictured as gold-diggers in that all they want from men is their money in return they remain loyal and inferior to them.

The main norm and values expressed in hip-hop is based on race, sex, and gender. They have special attention on sexua completion, sexual health, and getting the men’s approval. On the other hand, men have been associated with power and wealth. In this case, it is mainly the black African American who are seen being proficient in the field with a very small number of the other races participating in it (Ross, 2016). The number of women participating in the hip-hop world is very small as compared to that of their male counterparts which shows how sex and gender biasness has hit the industry. All these traits shown in the music conflict my personality. I do believ it is my desire to fit in my social network such as the peers who believe rap is the best and cool. I do like the luxury lifestyle that is evident in the songs but I buy their sexual and gender biasness which I think something has to be done about very soon.

In conclusion, I do believe that popular culture has adversely affected my personaly because at the moment I do have a tendency tosee the male gender being superior which is very wrong. I have also learned that what we listen to or watch has great impact on our personality and we must take great care when watching or listening to our music. Popular culture can be adopted by people just to help them fit into certain groups.
