The most interesting thing with “The god Dread” is that it is written in the form of a story. Therefore, it has the capability of captivating the mind of its readers. Through this narration, it has significantly helped in providing a reflection on the nature of the world that we live in addition to showing what must be done to set things right ( Damayanti, 2016) . For example, being that Justina lived in a society of poor people that some of them could even die because they lacked money for their basic needs, the only hope was to turn to God to assist in coming out of this dilemma or even seeking God’s love. Therefore, in this case, we can see that we are living in a cruel world, and hence, it is upon ourselves to make things right rather than wait for help to come from somewhere else.
Personally, I also think that “The god Dread” has fulfilled the crucial need of the society as it has provided an exemplary role model through the character of Justina. As a result, this shows that ordinary people have the capability to perform extraordinary deeds, not because they are being forced in doing so, but because they have decided on making the right choice ( Damayanti, 2016) . In this case, after experiencing prolonged poverty and suffering from the hands of her close relations, Justina decided to get married to a good husband who handed over to her all the savings, in which they could collective utilize for improving the nature of their lives. Therefore, the action of Justina in this narration helps in showing that positive thoughts and actions can significantly change the world. As a result, this can dramatically assist in inspiring several individuals throughout history. It is because storytelling acts as a better way of passing such inspirational epic tales like “The god Dread.”
