In the modern society, people are grouped into classes based on their financial stability and the status in the community. Those who have achieved high rank or those who are economically well off are grouped in the upper class, while the lower level is those languishing in poverty. The theoretical perspective in the field of sociology can be used to explain this kind of stratification in the society better. For instance, the symbolic perspective theory claim that people attach meaning to symbols, and then act in accordance to how they interpret these symbols. In this case, it means that the roles set by the society are usually not used by people. They set up their positions and act in accordance to their roles. In the community for instance, people have used symbols such as lavish cars, big mansions, and education as a symbol of wealth. They have put such individuals who are fortunate to possess such kind of items as people of high class. On the contrary, those who luck these items are placed in the lower level. In the society, the people who are educated, wealthy are those who can be given powerful position in the society since they are perceived to be in the high class.

The Functionalist, on the other hand, claim that each aspect of society is interdependence, and all element contributes to the growth of society. It means In this case that each sector in the society has a role in helping to its stability. It further implies that the lower class and the upper-class individual needs each other for the society to succeed. In this case, the society has laborers; these are people who work for the masters. These people are put in the lower class by the society. They have to depend on their masters for food and wages. On the other hand, there are those who own plantations, factories and the wealthy. These are masters who are put in the upper class by the society. However, they too cannot survive without the services of the lower classed labors as per the functionalist ( Giddens, et al., 2016). The last one is the conflict theory which has it that society is full of injustice and inequality which can only be solved by a change even it means having a revolution. This theory challenges the status quo in the society. According to the perspective of this theory, the high class are those who have acquired wealth; these are the people who have a high share of wealth in the society. They are the beneficiaries of the inequality and inequity in the society. On the hand, the lower class are the victims of equity, inequality and social injustices in the society.

The United States enacted the immigration laws immediately after gaining independence from the great British. Since then, there have been many changes in this statutes. Based on some of the factors which were being considered when changes in these laws were being made, it is apparent that current anti-immigration laws are just an extentions or expansions of the anti-immigrant policy which has been used all these years. First, the rules favored those who came from Europeans country, after which it was changed to encompass people from the entire world. During these changes, the laws were flexible enough to accommodate some people like those who were from Africa and India. At the same time, it restricted the growth of Asians in the country. These are same laws which are being passed currently by some states in the USA but has been expounded to cover more issues ( Almeida, et al., 2016). The current rules which are adopted by states are also led by factors which used to be considered in some years ago when the laws of immigration were being enacted after independence. However, the current laws are more detailed, strict and covers wide area. The anti-immigrant laws restrict unauthorized migration, refugees, and the terrorists. Example, in this case, is the Alabama which states that police should arrest any person they suspect to be an illegal individual in the country.
