An ethical framework refers to a model for decision making that simply gives an outline process by following procedural steps to effectively reach appropriate life decisions. Basically, this framework addresses how the decision is being made rather than what the decision has been made. Personally, the ethical framework has proved quite important in my life in the sense that it has helped realize the danger of most decisions I always made as well as the beauty of these decisions in my life. This explains why I have always been at peace with the authority including my parents and teachers. It is this framework that guides me into asking myself what other people would do if they were in my situation, and how I would feel if someone else made the decision I have made.

Ethical dilemmas and conflicts are part of human nature and solving them are what makes life worth living. Being the social animal that human is, I have always loved to let my humanity grow and make a difference from the animals. I have always reflected and thought about my worldview as an individual. Obviously, it is the influences and experiences that shape our worldview as individuals. It is these influences and experiences that made me properly evaluate the value system. I develop an ethical framework that does not allow me to adopt an objective or impartial view. My ethical framework is aimed at representing my strengths, as well as my flaws that need my own input to address. I have learned to always try to see myself the way other people see me before making any decision. Besides, my ethical framework is developed from reading a lot of novels that contain ethical dilemmas and moral issues with an intention of expanding one’s moral and ethical horizons. It is guided by the ethical code of person I would love people to see in me, as well as the type of world I would love to live in. this can be only be achieved by a moral code that is personally set.

My ethical framework as an individual is based on several factors: religious convictions; personal ethical principles and values; and ideologies such as democracy, justice or constitution. As a Christian, I believe in morality and ethics that should always be upheld in our daily lives. Besides, Christianity teaches the importance of doing well to everybody including our enemies and goes to teach us about the need to live in peace with our neighbors and anybody we meet in our lives. Therefore, I owe my religious convictions a lot when it comes to my ethical framework. Besides, I also believe in positive ideologies such as fairness and justice. For instance, I believe in decisions that respect and protect the moral rights of every person involved. This is based on the fact that there is dignity for every human being and this gives them the freedom to freely choose whatever they wish in their lives. This makes it necessary to treat people as ends rather than treating them as means to ends. Every person deserves the right to freely make a decision, be told the truth, be respected and given the needed privacy. It is as well important to note that justice requires equal treatment of all people. Those who work hard deserve better pay, and those who lazy around deserve little pay (Wang & Calvano, 2015). This is needed in a fair environment. It is as well important to note my personal ethical values and principles such as tolerance, honesty, generosity, love, integrity, self-control, fairness. These are all virtues that remind me of the person I would like to be if I keep them.

In comparison to the major theories, Aristotle and other Greek followers argue that equal treatment should be applicable to the equals and this justifies the need for inequality in the society. According to them, human beings can never be equal and other people must always have beet treatment than their fellow beings (Teulon, 2014). I personally disagree with this view in the sense that their equality of all human beings and everyone should be treated as such. In the explanations why others receive higher salaries, should be based on the hard work and input that one puts to deserve such a pay.

My ethical framework greatly influences my decision-making, behavior and ethical reasoning in the sense that I always try to live with my ethical principles, as well as helping other people understand my reasons for making the decisions I have made in life. For instance, my compassion always comes out in my decision making in an effort to take into consideration the circumstances and needs of other people before making a decision that is likely to affect them. It is for these reasons that I intend to make people understand the beauty and usefulness of ethical framework in their lives. I have learned over time that few problems are likely to arise in a society where people strive to make ethical decisions. In as much as ethics mean quite different things to various people in a society, my spiritual and religious beliefs have always formed my foundation for what I consider to be ethical. Nonetheless, there are behaviors that almost all people tend to consider as ethical or unethical. For instance, most people understand that it is wrong to kill someone. Communication plays an important role in personal ethics, and this explains why I simply communicate with people in an effort to explain my actions. This involves me being quite direct and straight to the people (Ferrell, 2014). People must be able to recognize my ethical beliefs based on my personal morals and behavior in the society. Therefore, my ethical framework influences my decisions in life.

I consider myself to be a strong person due to the fact that I am an ethical decision maker. As a firstborn in my family, I clearly understand the part I play in the establishment of all that I consider being wrong or right based on my own decisions and actions. I have hoped to an exemplary human and this can only be realized by setting good examples to others through being the ethical human being. It is my actions that can make people understand who I am rather than telling them who I am but not doing them. People should be able to see my ethical principles based on my actions towards friends and people that I meet in life. Sometimes I make mistakes and let my emotions cloud my decisions but I always strive to correct such actions by doing good for the sake of other people.
