How will you apply what you have learned this week to communicate strategically?
Communication is not just about getting on a platform and opening one's mouth to speak. But rather. It is a process that needs adequate preparation. The skills learned this week will help me determine the purpose of my speech by taking time to consider the audience' expectation. By analyzing them, I will be able to research and gather relevant information based on their needs thus delivering communicating relevant information to them. (Booher, 2011). Again I learned that it is important to communicate emotionally during one's presentation. By being expressive, I will be able to relate more deeply and on a more personal level with the audience thus establishing a connectional rapport that would serve to capture their attention during the presentation (Snyder, 1974).
How will you apply what you learn this week to improve your professional presence?
As an emcee, it is more than just getting on the mic and cracking a few jokes to lighten up the audience' spirit setting up the mood. I have learned that is essential in determining how to coordinate with the event managers and planners ahead of time to ensure that the speakers or the panelists are briefed on their individual roles. This should help in keeping them within the topics of discussion. The knowledge will also assist in understanding the image I am supposed to create and portray, not just for as an individual, but as representative of the organization or function in question (Dewi, 2008).

Any obstacles you ran into this week, and how you overcame this?
For a class presentation earlier in the week, the teacher had missed out on a crucial factor; he had forgotten to test the projector to ensure it was in excellent working condition. As the first presenter, this could have adversely affected my presentation. But luckily in good time, I took it upon myself to test the apparatus by conducting a personal site preparation ten minutes before the class. This enabled me to notice the flaw and have it fixed in reasonable time thus ensuring a smooth class presentation for me (Reynolds, 2011).
