National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) 

The national institute of nursing research (NINR) is part of the National Institute of Health (NIH) website that was established in 1986 as a center for conducting nursing research. The purpose of this website is to promote the health of communities and families by conducting clinical research on health and illness. It has been crucial in treatment and care due to its focus on the areas of disease prevention, health promotion and the quality of life. The unique feature about NINR is its ability to employ new technologies in conducting research, as well as the integration of biological and behavioral sciences to the field of nursing science. Its articles comprise of research done by colleges, universities and other research sites which are sponsored by NINR to investigate healthcare issues. 

The NINR meets all the criteria of a CRAAP test, which comprises of the relevance, purpose, authority, currency, and accuracy. An evaluation of the website shows that it is a credible and reliable source of nursing research with current information that informs clinical research. The purpose of the site is to inform and enlighten the reader on several healthcare issues with relevant information presented in various formats. For example, the information on the website can be found in the form of presentations, publications, brochures, and videocasts.
