Introduction
The foundation of most countries across the globe is built on education. Education provides a platform for individuals to assist the young ones realize full potential, both as principled, responsible citizens, and as productive economists. Notably, the current education system has not been tailored to cater for the needs of the society. Most nations use the education system introduced during the age of enlightenment, and the industrial revolution (The RSA, 2010) . Students are supposed to sit on desks, listening to a teacher lecture notes, write them down, and later, sit for exams to fill in the sheets with the same content fed by the teacher. In the end, education becomes not only boring but also monotonous, and one that is not stimulating. The focus of this essay is to create an ideal educational experience in higher education, as demonstrated in the discussion.
Description of the Audience/students
The ideal experience is based on higher education students. Students in higher learning institutions always look for opportunities to interact with their colleagues. They are eager to relate with the institution in order to enhance their overall learning experience. Most students in the higher learning institutions mistake memorization for learning. They tend to forget that, they are expected to learn a concept and do it practically, as opposed to remember it for a short period and quickly forget.

The Experience
The expectations of students joining higher education emanates from friends and family. The students are always under pressure to balance their higher education demands and coming up with independent approaches of learning. They are career-orientated, and put under pressure to take up extracurricular activities, attain work experience in order to gain a competitive edge in the job market. Higher education enables them to meet people, discover new interests and make friends. They meet friends from different backgrounds and places, and get a wider world view (TEDx Talks, 2012). The cost of higher education in the public sector should be affordable to all, but that is often not the case. Despite being training avenues for students, higher education has placed a huge financial burden on the parents and the students. The increased cost of higher education has ended up affecting the education services students get. Higher education in public institutions should be made affordable for all.
Connection to the Readings and the Videos
I concur with the arguments highlighted in the readings and the You Tube videos. The issues highlighted play out in the higher education more often. However, when it comes to higher education, students should not be limited to doing things in a certain way. For instance, as ‘RSA ANIMATE: Changing Education Paradigms’ You Tube video demonstrates, life presents a challenge and there can be more than one way of handling it (The RSA, 2010). However, in higher education, students are taught that there is only one correct way of doing things. I support the arguments in the readings, that higher education should discard the rigid system that does not provide room for creativity (Mubarak, 2014). Currently, the system rubbishes creativity, especially when students attempt to challenge the standardized answers. In the end, learners who came in as innovative, with eagerness to explore different possibilities are discouraged. As the readings and the videos demonstrate, learning in higher education should focus much on the process and not on the output. In institutions of higher learning, students should be encouraged to embrace divergent thinking, which focuses on dismissing unrealistic and useless ideas.
