Indeed focusing on the well-being of the female prisoners has a significant impact on reducing reoffending. In most situations, women who enter the justice system suffer from poor economic conditions, poor education, physical abuse, emotional abuse, drug abuse, and even lack of support from communities they come from. I agree with your suggestion that rehabilitation efforts should give education a priority. Studies reveal that prisoners who receive an education while in prison have a significantly low rate of being rearrested compared to those who do not receive any vocational training (Mohammed & Mohamed, 2015). Therefore, it is evident that there is a positive correlation between education and recidivism. Also, psychological treatment is necessary for the identification, treatment, and improvement of the mental health conditions of the female prisoners. I am impressed with your objective of improving therapy treatments based on gender to help female offenders to overcome the traumas they undergo. Research has established that rehabilitation programs that give women offenders opportunities to mend their behaviors expand their chances of reintegrating into society successfully (Antwi, 2015). I also agree with the fact that the incorporation of religious programs in the prison environment will help the offenders to build their relationship with God. According to Christianity, repentance and devotion lead to salvation. Prison administrators need to implement programs that promote cooperation and skill development among the inmates. Research shows that vocational and education programs that encourage skill development among inmates ensure a high rate of employment, thus reducing the recidivism rate (Mohammed & Mohamed, 2015). I agree with the fact that inmates who complete vocational services have a high tendency of not committing offenses during the period of incarceration and even after their release. Also, educational and vocational programs that promote cooperation among the inmates may lead to successful rehabilitation. I agree with your finding that vocational services should be implemented in collaboration with higher education programs to result in a higher education degree. Researchers have established that inmates who complete college or degree courses have positive attitudes while reintegrating into society since they feel prepared to enter the job markets (Pompoco et al., 2017). Finally, I support your idea since if implemented effectively, it will help the correctional services to improve the behaviors of the offenders.
