These individuals faced all manners of threats, brutality and discrimination since they were sole evidenced in the case and their victimization by the perpetrators of the crime could see them manipulate the evidence and make the case favor them. Another advantage is that it leads to inclusion of the crime victim in the case and it gave them mandate to be part and parcel of the proceeding until the judgment of their case. This rediscovery also had some cons on the side of the crime victims. Some crime victims often used the money to manipulate the case and asked for massive compensation which could even pay three times as much as what they lost. To such victims, that chance is long gone. Some also claim that rediscovery of the crime victims brought them closer to their enemy hence can lead to manipulation or harm to them by the perpetrators of the crime in an attempt to hide the truth.
