Human Resource Case Analysis
Internal Response
One of the biggest challenges that the human resource department deals with is to deal with the performance of the employees and conduct a performance appraisal. Many situations arise in an organization where some employees are underperforming and immediate action is required to rectify the situation. Some employees may not even be aware that they are underperforming unless a performance appraisal is done to measure the level of their performance. The situation, in this case, is that productivity is slowing down because some of the employees are not performing as per the expectation and it requires an immediate action to solve the problem. As the director of human resource, an internal response can be provided with relations to the need to have the performance of all employees be reviewed so that underperformance are encouraged to meet the expectations.
From: Director, human resource
To: All the employees
The company has been in recent months experiencing a reduction in productivity because some of the employees are underperforming. The low rate of productivity is threatening the future success of the business and the ability to meet goals and expectations. All employees are trained and placed to work in their areas of qualifications, so the company expects nothing short of quality performance. Due to this trend, the management has decided that a performance appraisal shall be conducted on a quarterly basis to measure the performance of all employees. This will allow the opportunity to identify the best performers and reward them. It will also allow the management to identify those who are underperforming and provide them with further training and motivation required to make them improve on their performance. After this, the management will not accept any performance that is below the expectations of any employee. All employees are therefore expected to be ready for the conduct of performance appraisal that begins in the following week, and everyone is required to maintain the high standards of performance.

Strategy to Retain and Motivate Quality Talent
Retaining and motivating the top performing employees can be one of the biggest challenges for human resource managers. Due to competition for the quality talents in the job market, the management must always strive to retain and motivate the quality workers to keep them off from the competitors. This can be done on the basis of both short term and long term. One of the short term strategies to motivate employees is to offer them fair and competitive pay. Employees will always compare what they are paid with what other companies pay for the same position. Providing a pay that is fair and competitive will motivate the employees and make them feel that the organization values them. Also, providing a conducive working environment that is free from stress can motivate the employees and make them love to work in the same organization for as long as possible.
Giving the employees the opportunity to take part in the decision making can also increase their motivation and feel that they are contributing to the success of the organization. Employees always want to share success, and by allowing them to make certain decisions, they feel part of the organization and not just workers. In the long run, best employees can be provided with the opportunity for career development. No employee wants to remain in the same position for long in one organization. Providing them with the opportunity to grow their career by offering promotions can be motivating to the employees. An employee who has remained in the same position for many years in the same organization is more likely to seek employment elsewhere where they believe their career will grow.
Marketing Case Analysis
Statement to the Media
Marketing can always be challenging to the management especially on picking the right content information to present to the target audience. An example of a case where the marketing message can cause a problem and require an immediate response is a message that targets a specific race and discriminates the other races. For example, a restaurant makes an advert that it provides quality dishes and best services for its white customers only. This message can be received by criticism from the minority groups who could feel that the restaurant is promoting racism at the time when everyone is advocating for an end to racial discrimination.
From the Marketing Director
To the public
Due to the advert dated 21st December 2018, which stated that the restaurant only welcomes the white guests, the management wishes to apologize for such a misleading message sincerely. Our organization is focused on diversity and serves all customers irrespective of the race, gender or nationality. Over the past years, all groups, both the whites and the minority groups have been our loyal customers, and we will continue to serve all people despite their racial background. The advert which came from one of our staff is regrettable, and the management is investigating the matter to ensure that disciplinary measures are taken. A lot of inconveniences has been caused to most of our customers, especially the minority African Americans and Hispanics who could now think that the organization is racist. The management wishes to state that this organization remains to serve all people regardless of race and are determined to promote diversity. That is why our staff is diversified with workers from a variety of cultures.
Marketing Strategy
One of the strategies that can be used to respond to the current marketing problem is the use of content and social media marketing. Due to the advancement in technology, social media has become the best attractive site for marketers to get their products to customers. More than 70% of the people across the globe are using social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. To reach this group of customers, social media can provide the best solution. Even while reaching to the customers on the social media, the content of marketing remains key. Choosing the right message that will not offend the customers can help increase the relevance of the marketing message. The marketing message has to be persuasive and appealing to the target customers if it is to make any relevance. Another short term marketing strategy is to reduce the price of the products and services to a slightly lower rate than what competitors provide. This can help attract many new customers and help maintain a competitive advantage.
In the long run, the firm can focus on brand building activities that can increase awareness of the product and give the company an image. This can be done by engaging in general advertising and high profile activities. Publish content is also important as it involves developing a stream of fresh content like the newsletters and blogs in the company’s site. While this is a gradual process, it can lead to an increase in the company’s image and boost sales. Both the long term and short term marketing strategies can help the business achieve immediate sales goals while also building the reputation of the business. However, a healthy balance is required between the two to increase the chances of prosperity into the future without necessarily locking up a lot of resources in marketing.
