The HEENT examination indicates that the tympanic membranes immobile as well as dull. The sinuses are not tender but the nares are normal. The throat has no exudates but appears very red. The cardiovascular and pulmonary exam is normal. The neck two enlarged lymph nodes on the right and is also supple. From the lab Labs and Diagnostics report, the student’s rapid strep is positive.

I would prescribe Amoxicillin to the patient because the chances are very high that she is suffering from group A Streptococcal pharyngitis ("Group A Strep | Strep Throat | For Clinicians | GAS | CDC", 2019). Amoxicillin is one of the best antibiotic regimens for this type of infection. In this case, she has to take either 25mg/kg twice a day or 50mg/kg once per day, and the maximum daily dose should be 1000mg. This is, however, dependent on whether the patient is has penicillin allergy. In case the patient is allergic to penicillin, the treatment regimen will have to be changed and cefadroxil used in place of Penicillin.
