The fact that the Sentinel City is densely populated with numerous challenges that entail lack jobs and hazardous housing conditions, especially for the vulnerable groups such as the Hispanic community means that the issue of an increased teenage pregnancy comes out as a major epidemiological event in the city (Healthy People target 2020 FP-6). The rationale for selecting an increased teenage pregnancy as a potential issue that could occur in the city is based on the fact that wallowing in chronic poverty makes the teenagers vulnerable to unprotected sex that leads to teenage pregnancy.

The research is valid and authentic thus intending to focus on improving the health and the general wellbeing of the people of Sentinel means gathering accurate information needs to be accorded the requisite attention. Accurate data would be gathered from the healthcare institutions such as the Sentinel city health department and identifying the target population that is comprised of the Hispanic immigrants as a primary source. As observed by Harkness and DeMarco (2016), the right type of data is entailing the health records of the affected victims such as families with the experience of teenage pregnancies in a bid to ascertain the number of affected people and find the most appropriate modality of dealing with the phenomenon.

The main steps of controlling the problem of teenage pregnancy that stands higher chances of impacting the entire Sentinel city includes the identification of the affected population, educating the youths, especially the teenagers on the dangers of unprotected sex, advocating for the use of condoms and offering job opportunities to people irrespective of their race and social-ethnic backgrounds. The identification of the most affected groups would play an important role in alleviating issues of teenage pregnancy that adversely affect the youths since the affected group would participate in creating awareness of the issue (Healthy People target 2020 FP-6). The fact that the target population or rather the most vulnerable group to experiencing the issue of teenage pregnancy are the recent Hispanic immigrants with no well-paid jobs and live in poor housing conditions means that their role in the alleviation of the epidemiological issue needs to be accorded the requisite attention.

Educating the youth, especially teenagers, as the second step involves the establishment of healthcare intervention programs that informs the teenagers of the implications and dangers that come with early pregnancy. The passage of the right information through the presentation of relevant case studies detailing healthcare complications that comes with teenage pregnancy would amicably resolve the issue of teenage pregnancy that affects the majority of the families in the Sentinel city (Harkness & DeMarco, 2016). Additionally, nurses could be tasked to educate teenagers in schools for reasons of reaching out to the maximum number of the most vulnerable groups.

Championing for the use of condoms comes out as one of the most effective strategies and a step towards battling with the issue of teenage pregnancy. The fact that there exists an increased temptation for the teenagers to engage in unprotected sex in the line of finding a better life means that offering relevant information that entails the use of condoms would be fundamental in helping to alleviate cases of teenage pregnancy (Healthy People target 2020 FP-6). The final step is to focus on the most effective strategies of offering job opportunities to the residents. In this context, the fact that teenagers in poor families are the most affected individuals means that offering decent jobs to their parents and guardians would play a primary role in redefining their mindset of engaging in unprotected sex as a platform for finding and living a better life.

In conclusion, fighting the problem of teenage pregnancy would prove quite idealistic in resolving healthcare cases that continue to affect the poor residents of Sentinel City. Offering quality education, especially on the dangers of engaging in unprotected sex and the provision of employment opportunities to the most vulnerable communities, would help address the epidemiological issue of teenage pregnancy in the city.
