Response 1

From the idea of prioritization, there must be a vision when choosing what to work on first and a clear understanding of what is expected to happen. There should also be an intention of reviewing the direction to take, putting into consideration the most current arising situation, and areas that need to be stressed. Part of prioritization requires doing even the most uncomfortable things. Addressing hunger, water, and sanitation first is the best decision since they are the most basic needs that are important to sustain life and are regarded as emergency needs. Economic development is sustainable when there is food. Countries faced with hunger crisis find it challenging to address the world’s most significant issues on climate and education due to limited capital development. Moreover, food insecurity has a negative long-term impact on the global economic growth. 1

Response two

Solving global problems require an in-depth analysis on the cost of solving the problem and the cost incurred for not solving the problem. The idea of making climate change a priority due to its long-term benefits is significant. However, long-term problems require more in-depth analysis. The point of trying to save the future generation without considering the present is questionable. The principle of sustainable development requires the use of short-term goals and milestones to solve long-term problems. This consideration will ensure solutions stay relevant for many more generations to come. It is also important to find value in the solutions made rather than investing so much in projects that will not serve the community for a prolonged period. 2

Response 3

A clear understanding on the real nature of problems at hand is the first step to understanding their urgency and severity. Water is an essential need. Establishing self-sufficiency in production of foodstuffs and equitable distribution of water and food is a right priority because it is a short-term goal and it can be easy to achieve. The idea of investing billions in the energy sector is equally good. However, most world countries are relying on electricity as a form of energy. It will therefore, be more vital to invest in technology that can only help in reducing fuel consumption and help in improving performance and supply of power. Therefore, more pressing global issues need a more urgent focus than just energy. 3
