Resolving ethical dilemmas in the place of work is largely essential to ensure operations flow smoothly. Facebook has been in the spotlight in which employees are accusing the social media giant of reading their emails and videotaping routine operations in the place of work. It is therefore the role of the company's chief executive officer and other management officials to enact methods to resolving these issues. Such approaches will be beneficial considering that the company is losing its ground in the market, a reduction in profitability, while also experiencing a huge rate of turnover. Facebook’s management should enact measures to ensure that the officials reading emails and videotaping offices reconsider such habits since the practices are highly regarded unethical. To resolve this issue, employees of the corporations have a duty of ensuring the management operates ethically. Employees have the duty of ensuring that company officials do not read their emails or videotape whatever is happening in offices.

Companies should take the initiative of removing all cameras from offices since this dampens employees work motivation. It should be noted that workers operate best when they are accorded the chance to operate without being monitored. This is fundamental since workers have the opportunity to experiment and explore tasks without fear. Facebook is a multinational company that thrives on technology, and since technology is all about trying new things, reading personal emails and videotaping offices would work against requirements of innovation and advancement in the routine setting. The courts believe that employers have the right to monitor what employees are doing whenever using computers or any other gadgets on their network, which means that employees cannot anticipate privacy. Nonetheless, Facebook should secure browsing and access to emails to provide employees with an assurance of safety in handling routine operations properly.

Sometimes, encrypting personal data is one way of ensuring company management does not check personal information. To ensure the security and wellbeing of its human resources, Facebook should find approaches and related software that safeguards spying on individual emails. One approach to securing employee emails and personal information is by using an encrypted web browser directly using a flash drive. It should be noted that the easiest approach to make this possible is by using IronKey, which Facebook should acquire as a secure drive preloaded with a version of Firefox, which automatically routes employees’ traffic via other serves. Facebook can also implement specific strategies to ensure its management does not read employee emails. For instance, the company can edit its code of conduct document to ensure there are zero cases in which the management is accused of such issues since they damage its reputation. Handling such issues might be essential in elevating productivity.

Validity of the Approaches

Companies are guided by ethical principles that should be adhered to in all instances. It should be noted that companies minus ethical regulations to guide operations might not appeal to the target audience. Corporations require employees to operate ethical according to their codes of conduct. This means that entities should also reciprocate such behaviour. Having leaders who value ethical principles is essential in attaining results. Facebook, as one of the most successful entities across the globe, has the duty of ensuring employees are satisfied and content with routine operations. This is considering that human resources are largely essential for the company’s success. Facebook’s employees, similar to any other workers in other entities across the globe, require some privacy more so concerning their personal information. Videotaping offices and reading personal emails is considered one of the most unethical practices that should be avoided at all costs.

Employees should be allowed to try new things since this elevates their talent and understanding of specific things. The approaches suggested are effective since they operate best in companies such as Virgin Atlantic Airways, a company that is largely renowned for offering privacy and opportunities for continuity for its human resources. The resolutions are valid in the short term and long term since employees operate best when they are secure and understand no one is monitoring their routine operations. It should be noted that videotaping employees when doing their work makes them nervous and might hence result in handling routine operations wrongly. It cannot be denied that Facebook is a technology company but this does not give it the right to read emails and videotape their employees when doing their work. Similar to the nursing industry in which privacy is largely confidential, Facebook should also practice the same for effective continuity.

Encrypting personal information is fundamental to ensure that even if the company's management desires to read emails, the same cannot be possible. Facebook should invest in software that will ensure personal information is kept as such. The approach is valid since checking personal emails might result in lawsuits, something that has been witnessed for long. The company is constantly losing money, time, and other resources when handling court cases filed by employees and other stakeholders. Facebook should consider using virtual approaches to manage its employees, an approach that will reduce the incidence of videotaping. While working from home, employees can use specific browsers and approaches to ensure the management of the corporation does not monitor them or read their email. These approaches are valid since they will increase the chances of creativity since employees are confident of their privacy. It should be noted that specific approaches to leadership are also fundamental in addressing such issues.
