The United States is a multicultural nation with its inhabitants deriving their origin from European, Asian, American, and African continent. Today, President Donald Trump is playing a greater role in dividing nations than he is doing in uniting his compatriots. The US is playing an active military role in Afghanistan, North Korea entanglement, Russia, Africa, and the Middle East. The country is at odds with nearly the whole continent and its citizens. This should not be the case. As a nation that consists of numerous multicultural people, the nation should be leading in making peace. The possibility of a nuclear war with North Korea or a war with North Korea and a more divided middle east are situations that can divide humanity and make life unbearable for many and more who are already suffering from the consequences of this threats and battles.
Ury (2018) presents an applicable way of solving such an intense conflict through finding the third side of the problem that can be used as an alternative option for finding common ground that will unite all. Finding commonality is the principle key as deduced from the video. The role of united states as a multicultural nation can be applied to this situation and create a bond of union. The US has been very pivotal in shaping the future of democracy and economic growth in developing countries. Her multicultural property can be the key to uniting the world. The US is a world on its own containing nearly all the tribes found in other parts of the continent. With this multicultural diversity, it has been able to contain herself and the interest of her citizens through guaranteeing unalienable rights and freedoms. It should take a similar approach in solving global conflicts by treating other nations as her citizens rather than assuming the voice that the country has adopted since the formation of trump's administration.

Thus, the third side of the global conflict, in which the US is playing a leading role, is the multicultural diversity of the US nation, which can be used as the focal point to unite the whole world. Citizens in the US can appeal to nations of the ancestor’s origin and appeal for harmonious coexistence.
