In a world where the internet is the most used source of information, it is challenging to determine credible sources especially health articles. Many individuals are victims of fake health news. It is, therefore, important for everyone to understand the basics of credible health information. I find four tips on avoiding fake health news significant. They include source credibility, research methodology, has the treatment been tried in humans, and most importantly whether it critics the role of doctors. Clear analysis of the four tips on how to avoid fake health news would be of great help to the society at large.

Just like many people, I am often trapped into the luring statement “secrets that doctors won’t tell you”. Articles with this information do not have credible evidence from health professionals. If any of the articles criticizes or underestimates the role or ethics of health practitioners, then I would consider it lame. Evaluating the source of the information would also help distinguish credible sources (from health organizations or broadcasting stations) from websites whose main aim is traffic (Hammond, 2017). Secondly, the research methodology used to verify the claim should also be considered. In particular, people should focus more on quantitative research articles with a clear record of how data was analyzed and how conclusions were made. Lastly, it would be helpful if we research on whether the treatment has previously been administered to humans; no one wants to be the first sample.
