Organizational approaches enable a company to deliver its management roles more effectively. It is also used in areas of finance, decision making and marketing of an organization. Therefore, the organizational approach of the curriculum design and instruction department of Think Smart can be described as that of "top-down" (Johnston, 2018). This is an organizational approach that entails or instead explains that an organization should deliver its managerial roles, plans, directives, goals, and objectives from the higher level of instructions to those below or rather the recipients of the services.

Hence, at the Think Smart curriculum design and instruction department, the higher directives include the director and two-floor managers. These are the ones who take the most senior positions, and therefore it means that they are the ones who deliver instructions, decisions, plans and managerial directives to the rest of the employees who are below them (Juneja, 2018). Think Smart has about 25 employees and hence they are all led by the top directives who offer them instructions to follow so that roles may be accomplished.

The current organizational communication theory for Think Smart based on their current ‘top-down' regulatory approach is the Weberian theory. This theory describes that communication within an organization moves from the top management to the down management (Juneja, 2018). At Think Smart, the senior management team which consists of the director and two-floor managers make the communication process useful by passing their information to the down management which includes of the rest of the employees.

In this case, they are entrusted with making all decisions regarding Think Smart and delivering them to the rest of the employees for all roles to be completed successfully. Therefore, the capabilities of the top management are quite crucial because they determine how other employees are going to work and how effective (Johnston, 2018). The analysis is finally done in the end to decide whether the top management is failing or they are delivering their services excellently.

However, there are other organizational communication theories which can be applied to Think Smart to ensure that communication is carried out in the most effective manner that leads the department to success. For example, the Deetz's managerial theory would work well with the Weberian approach (Eisenberg, 2018). This is because the Deetz's administrative theory compliments the Weberian theory by including economic power and diverse interests of Think Smart by involving all employees in management.

Therefore, it means that Think Smart will now have the capability to consult with other employees especially when individual decisions are not being made entirely (Johnston, 2018). This means that better results will be achieved since the process of decision making as well as communication will move at a faster means hence make better and more goals and objectives than before.

On the contrary, an organizational communication theory like critical theory would not work well with the original Weberian approach at Think Smart. This is because the critical theory tends to assume that conflict amongst employees is a regular thing and then this brings in some reluctance in the way some roles are carried out, and the way communication is achieved (Johnson, 2018). At the same time, employees may, therefore, grow the tendency to reject communication made to them by their seniors and hence this will eventually lead to failure of the department in general.

A new organizational approach for the curriculum design and instruction department of Think Smart would be the matrix structure. This is because this kind of organizational approach supports communication amongst employees in both ‘top-bottom' and ‘bottom top' concepts (Juneja, 2018). This means that all employees can communicate amongst each other and can also report to any fellow employee without necessarily being the top director. This would be the best organizational approach for Think Smart because it enables information to travel at a faster pace; hence employees are likely to interact amongst each other more and efficiently.

Therefore, the best organizational communication theory to support the matrix structure regulatory approach is the information theory. This theory is more concerned with how information can travel without so many mistakes and in a faster means (Eisenberg, 2018). Therefore, it is likely to support the matrix structure organization approach at Think Smart because employees will now concentrate more on how to make better decisions amongst themselves and deliver them in the fastest means possible. This is because they are more focused on communicating more and at the same time avoiding any mistakes that may come forth. At this pace, Think Smart will improve its services since communication will be carried out excellently without so many errors and hence prosperity will now be available.

In conclusion, as the organization grows, Think Smart employees require some expert skills to enable them to work in teams more efficiently. Some of these skills include knowledge of conflict resolution methods. This will be quite helpful because where communication is being carried out by many employees and interaction is consistent; conflicts are likely to arise. It is, therefore, the reasonability of the employees to learn and train themselves how to deal with them so that they may bring in success for the company
