The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool is essential in the modern business environment for increased client satisfaction. Organizations can use the ERP software to monitor sales, production, and store customer data for easy retrieval. Currently, the project aims to assess when the ERP system will be implemented and necessary steps during the process of execution. Determined important milestones include deciding most appropriate organizations that will benefit most from ERP systems, and the construction, manufacturing, and healthcare industries have been identified as core targets, despite size of operation. Milestones of implementing the proposed ERP system will be as below:
June 8, 2021: Staff Meeting
On June 8 2021, the organization’s staff will meet in the company’s conference room to discuss the ERP project. Essential aspects, such as the main beneficiaries of the program, stakeholders involved, and anticipated market reactions will be discussed by project team members ( Phullsunder, 2019) . At the moment, the organization has determined that ERP systems cannot benefit small-scale businesses because they do not require storing huge data amounts for client satisfaction purposes. However, the viability of the decision to overlook small businesses will be contested during the meeting on June 8, because organizations, such as healthcare facilities need the project’s ERP system despite their size. The meeting will last for 2 hours and then identified organizations documented and presented to the company’s chief executive officer for approval.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
June 10, 2021: Stakeholder Analysis
On June 10, the project team members will meet to discuss stakeholders’ effect on the company’s decision to sell ERP systems to identified target markets. For instance, the ERP system will impact organizations’ efficiency and customer satisfaction rates. The project team members will discuss how to best package the company’s ERP to meet diverse needs of target market mix to help increase efficiencies as anticipated. Another stakeholder that would interfere with the project is the government, because the company has to seek licenses to sell its ERP systems ( San Cristóbal et al., 2018) . Government regulations concerning selling ERP softwares will be reviewed during the meeting. Other stakeholders that will be discussed include sales people who will market the software to target markets and software developers. Every analysis outcome will be documented and sent to project team members, their supervisor and manager, and the company’s CEO for future reference when necessary.
June 14, 2021: Conducting a Preliminary Market Test
On June 14, the company will send sales people to selected target markets to conduct the preliminary testing for the company’s ERP software. Five organizations within the selected market mix will be awarded the software for free and requested to test and report back its efficiency after one week. The sales team will liaise with the organization’s information technology (IT) department to ensure any problems encountered are resolved promptly. The IT personnel for the selected organizations will also receive free extensive training on how to handle challenges that may arise later.
June 22, 2021: Analyzing Preliminary Test Results
On June 22, project members will meet for one hour to discuss the outcomes of the preliminary marketing test conducted by the company’s sales team. If results are positive, a date for launching the project fully will be identified. However, if organizations allowed to use the software for free do not give a positive review of the company’s ERP software’s capacity to increase efficiency, the project team members will request software developers to modify it according to client specifications.
June 24, 2021: Launching the ERP Sales Project
On June 24, the company will launch the ERP sales project officially. Sales team will comprise individuals who are well-versed with the ERP software’s working and anticipated hitches and resolutions. On the said day, project members will meet briefly in the morning and then each will be assigned a sales team to monitor progress. At the end of the day, the sales team, software developers, project members, and CEO will meet to discuss market reactions and way forward when necessary.
