A successful business case is based on a need. One of the most disturbing problems in the health sector is cybercrime. We intend to develop a strategy that will leverage IT-based techniques and measures to reduce risks of breach and threats to patient privacy within electronic health record systems. The purpose of this project is to prevent crime and police electronic health record systems. For a business case to thrive, it requires relevant information. All pieces of critical information should be included to avoid making the wrong decision (Marnewick & Einhorn, 2019). One of the main strengths of the project is that it can be replicated throughout the entire industry. However, standardizing security makes the health sector prone to attack in case a vulnerability is identified. We will need to identify the right people for the project—people with the right experience and information for the interviews. We need capital. According to the A.C. Committee (2013), organizations in the U.S. spend about $15 billion on cybersecurity. Cybersecurity costs increase a company's I.T. budget up to 20%. We will also require property such as recording devices, machinery, software licenses, and hardware equipment to complete the project.
Cybersecurity is costly. In this case, W.P. (With Project) and WOP (Without Project) scenarios will help in decision-making. Cybercrime continues to increase. Files with information about patients get wiped out, doctors are sometimes forced to turn away patients, or worse still, some health centers are forced to close down due to attacks (Morgan, 2020). Morgan (2020) predicted that the healthcare sector's cybersecurity market would grow by 15% annually starting from 2020. This is roughly $125 billion cumulatively from 2020 to 2025.
