Over the years, there has been a certain attitude that controlled the female identity which includes the female sexuality. Back then, women w\were not allowed to act on their sexual feelings at all. Only in a marriage situation was this allowed. Girls were not allowed to have any relations with their male partners until marriage. There was a strong opinion on adultery cases too. Good girls were expected to stay loyal to their husbands for as long as they were away and survived. Adultery made a woman an outcast in the society. This came along with everything that the family owned being destroyed and humiliated by the rest of the society.

Being attractive and putting too much detail on ones looks drew attention to the villagers and gossip, of course, came with it. Good girls were expected to do the least with not only their hair but also the way they dressed. Hairstyling that was different from what other women had in the society was considered attention seeking action. A female identity was opinioned to carrying wood, giving birth, cooking, and laundry. A good girl was supposed to be able to do all these throughout their lives.

Bad behavior was considered to be actions like wanting better things and not conforming to the society's culture. Going back to one's home after marriage was a crime back then. Heavy punishments like being an outcast, stoning to death, starvation and also children sired would be treated like outcasts too. These attitudes have however been outgrown with time in most parts of the world. Women in today's world are allowed to embrace their identity to things bigger than cooking, laundry.

Women in today's world can wear whatever they want without being restrictive to primitive attitudes that were back there. Female sexuality is celebrated without fear and women are allowed to feel good about their bodies, hair, worth and importance in the society. Though adultery is not allowed, there is no social discrimination like in the past. Sex is also a topic discussed too freely without fear. All through, there is a tremendous change in attitudes towards female sexuality or identity.
