However, the main challenge lies in the proper use of technology to ensure a better future. The significance of technology in today’s human life calls for a focus on the relevance of the types of technologies created as they should help in safeguarding the future.  Therefore, technology has helped society in a significant way impacting human lives and their anticipations in the future.

The significance of technology in human life can be evaluated through the positive and negative aspects of technology. The implications of technological advancements are seen as positive or negative, depending on the way individuals use technology (Crowley & Heyer, 2015). Positive consequences of technology include agricultural mechanization, improved transportation, secure communication, diversification of education, and learning process. It also entails improved health and individual entertainment (Turner, 2015). Technology has adversely impacted societies through depletion of resources, increased pollution of the environment and increased world population.

In agriculture, modern technology is significant as it helps increase food production. Agriculture mechanization achieved through technology allows food to be produced by fewer people using les inputs and time. The use of technology agricultural activities facilitates the growth of genetic crops which grow fast ad are resistant to pests and diseases (Turner, 2015). The new, improved agriculture has changed society by ensuring food security through the automatic of the production process. Technology has also enabled the improvement of transportation enhancing the mobility of people and goods. Changes have been witnessed in roads and automobiles, air transport, water transport, and space transportation. Technology is a tool that has helped developing countries to open to the world for business, trade, and learning.

Importantly, technology has helped improved the transfer of information in communication. The introduction of electronic media has not only benefited individuals but also businesses, politics, work environment as well as relationships. It is also essential to note the role played by technology in education, which is critical for information interpretation (Turner, 2015). Educational technologies using computers, mobile phones, and the internet have become popular and help an individual to learn how to understand and interpret information. Programs such as those of visual learning or long-distance learning programs have extended the boundaries of education, engaging scholars from all parts of the world.

The adverse effects of technology are seen in resource depletion. The development of new technologies and support of the current technologies requires the use of natural resources. The demand for technological devices such as phones and computes demand resources which can be hard to sustain, putting more pressure on resources (Crowley & Heyer, 2015). Despite the positive impact of technology in enhancing good health and longer lives, technology has in this effect failed to control births leading to a lack of balance between the population and available resources. Advancement of technologies also increases pollution due to increased manufacturing and processing factories (Turner, 2015). Climatic changes are evident due to the release of harmful chemicals and gasses which ruin the environment.  Technology also creates an unconducive environment for the youths leading to addictions to gamins, lower self-esteem, and lack of confidence, the spread of fake news and unrealistic demands.

On balance, people see technology as both a benefit and as a threat. Technology is beneficial as it makes life easier faster, better, and more entertaining. Communication improvement is the most significant transformation as a result of technology due to the growth of social media. Technology has increased awareness and knowledge level making individual more informative and productive. It is evident that technology has changed for better the way people work, study shop, use humor and behavior.  People also view technology as a threat to relationships (Crowley & Heyer, 2015). With the increased use of social media, people are more reliant on computers, cell phones, tablets, and their laptops and avoid direct contact with other people. Technology is also seen as a threat to the environment due to pollution and has inspired campaigns urging individuals to embrace green technologies.

The development of new technologies promises a better future of expertise. With the many benefits discussed, it is evident that technology has revolutionized the world, making life fun, more comfortable, and better. However, the concerns on the adverse effects need to be addressed, especially on depletion of resources and pollution. The impact of technology is determined by positive or negative use in communication, doing business, and the attainment of comfort and satisfaction. It is therefore essential to note that though technology serves as the backbone of life. Its advancement and evolution comes with needs and must consequently be positively used for human convenience.
