The pub chem discovered the indirubin molecule. Its IUPAC name is 2-(2-hydroxy-1H-indol-3-yl) indol-3-one and its molecular formula are C24H32O4. This molecule, which is also known as indigo naturalis; indigo red is believed to be found in a plant in Asia and Africa called Indigofera arrecta (Pubchem, 2019). It is also found in both human and some mammals’ urine. It is known to cure epilepsy. Some researchers found out that the indirubin molecule prevents seizures which are involved in the disease. From the study, the researchers learned that the molecule blocks the glycogen synthase kinase -3, which is responsible for the regulation of body energy. A study was done on a rat plasma with a high liquid performance with the aim of determining the pharmacokinetic information of the indirubin molecule. The molecule as the standard was extracted from plasma and a chromatographic separation followed with the usage of methanol-water as the mobile phase. The calibration curve of the indirubin present appeared linear. That method was successful in the estimation of indirubin parameters after intravenous distribution of it to rats. The pharmacodynamics of the molecule affirms that it contains biological content that is being tried for curing diseases as chronic as cancer. It has a compound called ‘natura’ which is individually responsible for preventing or treating cancer. The design of the component in the indirubin molecule is a way that its bioactivity increases with time. A method is taught on what amounts of the compound should be administered in a host. The process is redone until the host is free of the diseases, or the desired result is accomplished.
