The main purpose of forming this group is to discuss psychotherapy and how it affects people’s lives. The group is composed of the chair, secretary, treasurer, and ten members who will contribute to the achievement of set goals. To achieve this objective, I intend to formulate certain rules which will guide the conduct of each member. First, every member must keep time to enable the group to compete this task efficiently. As the chair, I will communicate to the group through online channels and telephone calls thus allowing every member to make adequate preparation. Secondly, I expect every member to finish the assigned tasks within the stipulated time. The reason for formulating this rule is to prevent some members from dragging the group and thus causing conflicts. Work will be allocated according to one’s capabilities and personal interests. However, a member may raise objections and request to be allocated different tasks which suit one’s abilities (Jurkiewicz, 2020) . To make this request, a member needs to inform the chair before the next meeting to allow implementation of those changes and communication to be made.
The third rule involves using appropriate channels when passing certain information to the group. The reason for formulating this rule is to make members interpret authentic information and avoid confusion that might occur due to conflicting voices. To complete the psychotherapy discussion and its goal, the chair intends to provide certain materials and resources for use in different stages and times (Stein & Nash, 2020) . The first item the chair intends to provide includes notebooks and pens to the secretary and treasurer for note-taking and recording of minutes. The budget for those items come from members’ contribution in addition to the institution’s provision. The second type of resources the chair intends to provide include learning materials in form of soft and hard copies. Those resources include books and periodicals related to psychotherapy.
