The nursing profession does require more dedication, greater sensitivity and even higher levels of competence in order for any notable professional success to be attained. The nature of nursing requires a great deal of compassion and often, this goes beyond the nature of business. Generally, the issues involved can be addressed through a healthy balance between business and compassion (Hough, 2013) . The Moreno practice can benefit from improving these aspects of management. Its vision must be central to medicine whilst still, maintaining its ability to make profits while delivering high quality healthcare services for its clientele. The starting point for this structural change begins at the point of customer satisfaction, as this is a shared interest both in business and medicine.

The Impact of Reorganization on Patient Outcomes

Reorganization could help drive better patient outcomes. Restructuring the management of a business begins with identifying the main issues surrounding its operation. In this case, it appears to be the prioritization of the wellbeing of patients against the profits made. This can be solved by the reorganization of departments through the reallocation of resources within the facility to ensure that patients receive the highest benefit possible. Reorganization involves engaging staff in more involving operations (Langabeer, 2010) . Firstly, the management must ensure the proper coordination of activities between staff members by encouraging teamwork. It is extremely important that more than one department coordinate efficiently for proper and effective processes to be attained. The steps between the admission and discharge of patients must provide reliable information to follow up the treatment process of any patient at any given time. It is important that the clinic maintains proper records for the sake of its patients and as a legal requirement. The current structure appears to be unsatisfactory given that admission and discharge processes are quite hectic (Moseley, 2009 ) . Seeing that MMC is an acute care center means that it is necessary for admissions to be made effective in order to save the lives of patients coming in by providing them with the proper treatment.

The Current Structure and the Required Changes

The current structure does not empower nurses to provide the best patient care. There are several weaknesses in the structure that require improvement. In order to ensure proper treatment processes, the admission process ought to establish ways of obtaining sufficient information to input in the system at the point of admission. They can do this by encouraging relatives and friends of patients to provide sufficient information for proper identification. These same relatives should further be encouraged to provide any other relevant medical information, coupled with the facts of the incident leading up to the medical situation at hand, as this allows for treatment to be more precise. Such like information is very useful for the administration of medication and treatment.

The social and cultural aspects at the MMC that could be exacerbating or helping resolve admission and discharge issues.

Among the social and cultural aspects at the MMC that aggravate the already bad conditions is the lack of interaction between nurses and staff. The fact that this shows no sense of teamwork makes it extremely difficult to coordinate the flow of issues in the clinic. For purposes of the encouragement of greater teamwork and professional collaboration, the outfit could engage the feedback from patients and the nurses regarding other departments. Using this information to encourage communication among staff members is likely to increase patient satisfaction. These issues not only need to be addressed as mere matters of procedure but also because they are important for the proper functioning of business with regards to the protection of the wellbeing of the patients. It is the needs of the patients that ought to determine the management style of any good business.

Measures Already in Place at MMC

The right individuals have already been put in place at MMC, and this is geared towards improving the efficiency of the admission and discharge processes. These have been equipped with proper training for the job. The new management at MMC has already ensured that surgical schedules are strictly adhered to and that the surgeons communicate their unavailability in good time to ensure fast and quality movement of the treatment processes at the clinic (Buchbinder, 2012) . These surgeons are expected to provide proper explanations for their unavailability to the management and to the concerned patients as well. Through engaging the patients, they are able to put them and their families at ease. They must also ensure that the management receives communication through requests to reschedule surgeries. As such, it is now possible to avoid incidents where surgeries are administered on the wrong patients and where backlogs of schedules cause inconveniences in every other process in the clinic (Moseley, 2012) . The management also ought to be in communication with surgeons and their patients to ensure that patients are transported efficiently to recovery rooms after surgery. Both the surgeons and management must maintain personalized care by requesting patients to explain their needs to them and meet these needs in turn. Nurses have the responsibility to find out the kind of room that the patient would be most comfortable and ensure that they have found such for the patients (Buchbinder, 2012) . In this manner, the patient’s profile reflects more detailed information about them and allows the clinic to attend to them even better in the future.

The Role of MMC Leaders and Management in Affecting Change

The responsibilities of the RN and manager at the MMC are summarily to ensure that there is order within the departments. This is crucial with regards to the admissions as a function, but also goes on to other departments such as the finance and the laboratory services departments (Langabeer, 2010) . There is the need to maintain the proper flow of events within the clinic by ensuring proper coordination amongst these departments. The finance department must receive proper, timely records right from the time of admissions through to the time of surgery and lab testing. For instance, the admissions department needs to find out insurance information of the patient and communicate it to the finance department. It is also the responsibility of finance to make sure that it duly informs the patient of any steps to be undertaken prior to such undertaking. The staff must ensure that they care for the patient more and not what the patient brings to the clinic (Moseley, 2012) . It is the responsibility of caregivers to primarily administer care even where business is involved. Nurses must therefore interact with their patients on a personal level in order to understand their needs. In the event that the patient requires a service that is not within procedure but is beneficial to their health and welfare, then the nurse must provide that for the patient. Such provision must remain within reasonable and legally acceptable grounds.

Team Dynamics and Delegation in MMC

Delegation of nurses has gone a long way to ensure success of the clinic. Through exercising high levels of competence in their work and remain professional by putting patients first. These must also carry out their respective duties. In such a manner, it is possible to achieve accountability and hence responsibility on the part of the nurses. It is possible to avoid the discharge of patients by ancillary staff and maintain coordination of such activity from the beginning to the end. The Moreno Clinic will benefit highly from a manager that encourages development of people’s skills among the nurses and encourages carrying out of such activities every now and then (Langabeer, 2012) . To achieve this, it is important to involve staff members in team building activities and in acknowledgement of their personal achievements and contribution to the clinic.

Staffing and Evaluation

The staffing and evaluation of nurses at the clinic is crucial to the process of developing accountability in the clinic (Niles, 2014) . This is achievable through the engagement of patients in providing feedback to the clinic in terms of quality of service and particular compliments and complaints against nurses.

Conclusion

The aim of creating a new management is to ensure that patients are happy and that the staff also runs the clinic effectively with high levels of coordination. By achieving customer satisfaction, the clinic is able to achieve higher income and create a form of family at the place of work. Consequently, the feel of warmth leads to high motivation among the staff members and encourages high quality of work output. With time, it is possible to achieve personalized care for a patient that includes serving them from their homes. The higher the satisfaction levels, the higher their loyalty to the hospital and likelihood of survival in business in the long term. It is right to say that the clinic reorganization can win its clientele into sustainable business. At the end of the day, business is really about the customer.
