The idea of the settlement movement is good as it fostered good relationship that lead to a healthy community. The settlement provided education for both adults and children. Jane’s example encouraged women to do more in society than home managers. It is a perfect example of a liberal peaceful community. A movement such as this today will help by educating and providing opportunities for the poor. This helps in preventing crime and other unwanted behaviours. They would also provide safe day houses for children with working mothers especially due to the rise of single motherhood. The settlement houses can also provide jobs and through these it alleviated the poverty levels of the poor. 

The settlement project was important was very important as it helped create jobs, education and encouraged women to work on something else other than their household. Through this movement, people learned to come together in one community and socialize. Children and adults discover their talents and discover avenues for support. The hull house an example of a settlement house was so successful that it expanded and bore other settlement houses. However, in the late 1920s settlement houses reduced when immigration from other countries subsided and due to urbanization.

Culturally transmitted ethics are values taught to children by the parent, society, and religion. Existing social-cultural conditions is a naturally developed situation in the community due to politics, conflicts, professionalism, etc. Clashing of these two major concepts of a developing community bring about the division of social classes and disparity. Sociologists must find peaceable ways to bring people together and resolve conflict. This should be done through the development of theories, research, developing policies and implementing them. 

It is quite true that experience is life’s best teacher as one will always relate and solve problems through past experiences. Jane believed that being socially involved experiencing the sociological aspect of life. The research will involve formulating theories, concepts, empirical investigation, and critical analysis to get knowledge of human social structure and activity.
