Delinquency, unlike adult prosecution, looks at the wellbeing of the youth whether a victim or criminal. The justice system explores misconduct to the extents of abandoned minors, physically or psychologically abused and dependent children. By the broader coverage of juvenile delinquency, the court can provide a range of options for delinquents. Misconduct is mostly a result of social challenges of growing up thus the need for careful consideration while dealing with such matters. Social difficulties arise from the desire of youth to attain freedom from parental control, the urge to be acknowledged as adults, the technicality of economic dependence and a daring spirit. Thus, children are persons under constant pressure from two worlds: childhood and adulthood hence the pressure drives some to the extremes that amount to criminal acts.

In conclusion, juvenile delinquency is a term defining a broad area of youth behaviours. Delinquency originates from the social strain of growing up and is determined by different parameters in different societies. Ideally, misconduct arises when the community approaches youth as an instance in life cycles whereas it is a transition over time; that is growing up is a process and not an occasion.
