Informatics knowledge remains essential for FNPs in mastering the large volume of information gathered in today’s healthcare. Secondly, FNPs can also apply nursing informatics when gathering a patient’s health information electronically. This helps them to respond to various health issues within their practice through handling, deducing, and communicating efficiently that data that flows in and out of the facility (Sewell, Thede & Thede, 2013). Finally, when there is a need to keep a patient’s medical history updated and easily accessible FNPs must use nursing informatics.
