Change is inevitable. The business world is experiencing rapid change in areas including marketing, technology, and social corporate responsibility. Due to these changes, there is need for company managers to equip themselves with the necessary skills to cope with the innovations. The Jimtech Company management has to ensure that their team is up to date with the changes and are able to handle them for the success of the company.

One strength that the Jimtech Company has is the highly experienced technicians who receive regular trainings. This equips them with high technical skills to face the digitization trend. Through these trainings, the company manages and retains its own talented technicians. The Jimtechcompany also engages in corporate social responsibilities, which has helped boost their public image as well as build a network of trust for themselves. These responsibilities include sponsoring needy children through school, participating in environmental conservation activities, and facilitating free trainings for young entrepreneurs.

Among the many types of leadership that exist, the best one that Jimtech Company requires, in the wake of all these innovations is the transformational leadership. Here, the management participate in the effort to meet the goals of the company as well as motivate the team and employees to focus on the set targets. This leadership rely on effective communication. ”Communication is very critical in determining the direction that a group of people take in regard to a matter” (Barker 2013 p. 26). The management has to communicate clearly to the employees about the expectations that the company has from them as well as receive feedbackfrom the employees. Communication enhances a positive working atmosphere and transparency, on the part of the leaders.

The top managers at Jimtech Company however, have not utilized the transformational leadership style. The leaders lack communication skills, which is very crucial for a company of this kind. These managers do not have the culture of advising, coaching, and mentoring the junior employees, especially the new ones. As Goldsmith et al (2005) states, “Coaching is empowerment. The junior employees are empowered to work for the best results” (p.12). This would not only help the Jimtech Company but also the employee to fulfil personal ambitions.

The absence of proper communication skills in this company is a fact that needs to be addressed more urgently. Achieving results for set objectives cannot happen if there is no proper communication. The best way to do this is to outsource for talent from elsewhere. Kotter and Cohen (2012) postulate that, “transforming an organization successfully, is about changing the structure, operations, and also people’s behavior. Changing people’s behavior is not easy but bringing in new people would yield success” (p.7). Apart fromthis resource person bringing in new skills, he or she would help break the monotony of having the same people in the managerial position. The top management of JimtechCompany should consider this as an advantage to the company because of the value addition factor.

There are barriers to having this external talent into the company. The wage bill for the company is set to increase with the introduction of this new person. The company’s financial state may not allow the addition of another employee. The other barrier would be the reception attitude of this move from other members of the Management. The old members would feel that they were considered incapable of bringing change themselves. These members may not accord all necessary cooperation and support to the new talent hence sabotaging the company’s efforts to improve its communication skills.
