The Mural painting, otherwise known as the last supper, is one of Da Vinci’s painting of the Renaissance. The painting is unique in that it depicted the very moment when Christ revealed to his disciples that one of them was going to betray him. The painting serves to show the reactions of the disciples to the news of betrayal.

Though the work is mostly depicted as a simple biblical painting, it is in fact complex in every manner. First, the disciples are all painted in sets of three. The first group which consists of James, Bartholomew, and Andrew are surprised. The second group has mixed reactions with Judas being surprised or shocked, Peter holding a knife, and John is swooning. In the third group, Thomas is saddened, James, on the other hand, is shocked while Philip demands an explanation. In the last group, Jude and Mathew have turned to Simon expecting an answer. In general, the painting captures the disciples in the middle of horror, disbelief, and querying. Jesus himself has an expansive and serene pose (ItalianRenaissance.org.).

The painting is an early depiction of realism. It is real, live and human as to depict the Still Life, which was later perfected in the 17 th century. While laid out on a table, one can see the lacework on the tablecloth, the pitchers of water, and the clear wine glasses. Though in most versions of the last supper Judas is usually seated separate from the other disciples, Leonardo paints all disciples on the same side of the table so that they all face the viewer. However, Judas is still different as his head is positioned to be lower than any other person in the painting.

The most fascinating invention of Da Vinci was the flying machine. The machine was as a result of Da Vinci’s fascinating imagination, observation, and enthusiasm that one day man would fly. Da Vinci’s imaginations and dreams while making the flying machine can be compared to the dreams of the Wright brothers in 1903. The brothers used a slightly different approach from Da Vinci’s flying machine, and thanks to them, man can now fly.
