Community-based and national referral resources provide useful information to assist individuals to locate the needed care services. Research shows that vulnerable populations such as drug users need care and rehabilitation in the course of their transition (Davis et al., 2012). Therefore, community-based centers offer the needed programs to enhance the well-being of such individuals. Thus, referral facilities can help vulnerable populations to access effective care that meets their needs.
Community-Based Referral Resources
Three community referral resources include Cobb County Georgia, Spectrum BA, and Allatoona Community. Allatoona is a citizen forum that aims to enhance unity and diversity. Spectrum BA offers consultation training to individuals with behavioral challenges and autism. This facility collaborates with other organizations such as Autism Speaks and ERIN’S Hope for Friends to broaden its network. The latitude and activities of these agencies or resources are limited to local populations.

National Referral Resources
On the other hand, national referral resources can offer useful data and figures across the U.S. in essence, some of the national agencies that can provide direct or indirect referral information concerning relationships include stopbullying.gov, Health Resources & Services Administration, and National Centers on Health Promotion for People with Disabilities. National referral resources can screen individuals, educate, and offer referrals. The stopbullying.gov, for instance, offers resources and information to increase bullying awareness. The scope and coverage of national resources are wide compared to local-based resources.
The Allatoona Community – Local Agency
One element that stands out with this community-based resource center is the multidisciplinary approach to well-being (Davis et al., 2012). In other words, this facility offers different referrals and resources, undertaken by various experts to enhance the wellness of the community. The objective of this resource center is to provide all the residents of the south Bartow County with education, resources, and information services. The agency seeks to enhance the quality of life of its beneficiaries through collaborations between different government organizations, religious centers, and the community at large. The center serves is one of the main sources of information and referrals. In particular, it can connect people with other agencies to access missing services and programs. However, these services and programs are restricted to Bartow County residents. Some programs also have further restrictions such as certain qualifications that necessitate assistance. For instance, it collaborates and offers assistance related to child abuse. The center collaborates with numerous governmental and non-governmental agencies to enhance the delivery of services. It mainly focuses on preventing child abuse and child education (Allatoona Resource Center).
Moreover, this local facility illustrates the importance of teamwork and the formation of coalitions. An integrated approach to improving the well-being of individuals is even effective in the healthcare setting. According to De Regge et al. (2017), a cohesive approach to care is useful during transitional care. The application of a similar approach allows the Allatoona Community to respond to the various needs of individuals. Even at the community level, individuals undergo different levels of transition. For instance, families and communities help the released lawbreakers and even drug addicts to transition. The identified local agency helps people through the formation of partnerships. This approach is effective because the agency links the needy or people with assistance to professional organizations and resources. In other words, the local agency services as a link between people and assistance. This allows that agency to assess the needs, establish qualifications, and help the individuals who require assistance the most. Overall, referral resources act as an important link between people and services or programs. Both local and national referrals help vulnerable communities to access vital programs and services to build their lives.
