Introduction

Right decisions require a rational mode of reasoning and argumentation over parameters of the issue at hand. Logic forms ethical theories that are applied in ensuring correctness in a particular setting. Majorly, ethical theories rely on logic reasoning and refer to people regardless of whether they are aware of them or not. There exist conflicts in thinking in some theories that apply to man. This paper examines the challenge facing cultural relativism theory where some moral codes are entirely ignored in real life.

Cultural Relativism Is Based On Fallacious Reasoning

Every issue based on logical reasoning is either right or wrong. The claim by the cultural relativism theory lacks enough thresholds to make people ignore universal moral codes. To my opinion, moral codes exist in human life, and they are essential in guiding human interaction. The theory claims that there are no universal codes simply because there are live cultural codes in the world.

The theory is based on fallacious reasoning that implies that many cultures in the world are not legit since all people apply none of them at ago. People have varying expectations, demands, histories, problems to deal with and so on. Hence, People employ varying methods, ways of life and procedures in ensuring better living. The logical reasoning here is that cultural values do not determine moral rightness in the society. People in the world have standard ways of dealing with their issues, and they are also faced with similar challenges. There are universal moral codes that apply to all people because human interaction will always exist.

Conclusion

Theories are supposed to be based on logical reasons which are supported by truth. Cultural relativism theory is based on a weak basis and lacks strong truth premises to support it. With the fact that human interacts and experience some similar ways of life across the world. Cultural relativism theory does not add up.
