Demographic Variables and Boundaries of the Farm 

Mainstay Therapeutic Farm is located in Richmond, Illinois in the United States of America. Richmond is an agricultural village in McHenry County, Illinois. The farm is therefore situated in the midst of the other farms in the area. McHenry County Conservation donated the farm. The ages in Richmond village and especially the farm have a range of between three and ninety-three. The clients at Mainstay Therapeutic Farm are of different ethnicities which is a representation of Richmond's ethnic composition. The ethnicities in the area are 93% white and 6% Hispanic. Richmond has a total of 1874 residents (Suburbanstats.org, 2018). 

The Use of the Farm and How It Affects the Residents' Livelihoods 

The farm provides therapeutic attention to all those who need it. Mainstay Therapeutic Farm is in kind of a natural setting that favors the residents' health as there are zero hazards such as environmental pollution. Centegra McHenry is the nearest health facility to the farm, and it is around 10 miles from it. These are Richmond Burton Community High School, Nippersink Middle School, and Richmond Elementary School. McHenry County Glacier Conservation is a park right across the street from the farm. There are no sidewalks and bicycle paths in the town.

Cultural Environment and the Population It Serves 

The town of Richmond has a total of three churches. The presence of the churches indicates the religiousness of the people of Richmond. Richmond has arts and cultural facilities. Some of the facilities cover shopping, jewelry and fashion apparels, and entertainment. There are also events hosted in the town such as the Easter Egg Hunt and the Spaghetti Festival (Village of Richmond, 2014). The city has a police station which is responsible for the security of the area. The two restaurants in the town offer eating spots for the residents of the village. Richmond village is head by a president, Craig Kunz (Village of Richmond, 2014). 

Economic Environment 

Unlike the other therapeutic farms in the United States of America that get their funding from the state or federal government, Mainstay Therapeutic Farm obtains its funding from a variety of different ways. These are sponsorships such as those from the corporate setups across the United States, donations from well-wishers, and grants. The reasons for the methods of funding for the farm include the farm being run as a non-profit organization. Once in a while, the farm organizes for fundraising functions to raise funds for their projects. The primary economic activity of the people in Richmond village is agriculture. 

Description of the Mainstay Therapeutic Farm 

Located in Richmond village in Illinois is the farm, usually concerned with the therapy of the clients with several disorders. Some of the diseases are cerebral palsy, genetic disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and neurological disorders, among other things. The farm does not receive funds from the state of Illinois government or the federal government of the United States of America. Mainstay Therapeutic Farm depends on the donations from people across the United States and the whole world. The farm is assisted by a few employees and a more significant number of volunteers. The farm records over 9000 volunteer hours annually (Mainstay Therapeutic Farm, 2018).

Richmond has two restaurants near the farm. These are Grand Old Mill and Dusty's Pizza. The restaurants are the main points of eating in the town. The businesses near the farm have an impact on the running of the farm. For instance, the businesses may seek to hold various functions such as the Spaghetti Festival on the farm. Sometimes, the businesses may also chip in and contribute to some of the farm's fundraising activities. Thus, the nearby businesses and the farm interact.
