Various strategies could be used in empowering nurse leaders and managers so that they become transformational leaders. For one the organization must create a friendly environment for the transformation through group and individual learning. Here the manager and leaders who are to become transformational leaders learn the intricacies and competencies required for the transformation. However, it should be noted that the organization should anticipate tensions as the stakeholders grapple with the new reality. An organization could also engage with leaders who possess formal authority in the earliest stages to enhance collaboration, which is crucial in the process (Marquis and Huston, 2017). Additionally, an organization needs to provide space for the target leaders so that they can learn how to demonstrate the characteristics associated with transformational leadership. Finally, an organization can help the target leaders and managers to expand their systems thinking so that they can understand how the various systems in the organization are connected. All of these strategies ate aimed at ensuring that the managers and leaders are aware of what lies ahead to enhance a smooth transition.
