Question One
My charge nurse is one person that has greatly impacted my career as a nurse. As a new nurse, for about two years in hemodialysis my charge nurse was my preceptor; she taught me everything that I know now. She taught me empathy and punctuality, critical traits to my profession as most of the patients that come in have a lot of burgages and they need to be treated within the shortest time possible with the highest quality of care.
The level of keenness shown by my Clinical Manager while undertaking his duties was unmatched. He always insisted that there was no room for error in nursing as it is people's lives we are dealing with. I learnt to pay attention to the smallest of details to administer proper treatment to each patient under my care.

Question Two
My nurse manager, Hellen, is the epitome of effective leadership. Her analysis of the different situations, proper project execution and a team leader are some of the key qualities that made her an effective leader. As a team leader, she showed us how a procedure or an activity is done and let us do it while she closes by correcting us politely where we go astray. Her ability to bring people of diverse cultures together has amazed me.
Question Three
As people, we are raised from diverse backgrounds with diverse cultural practices and beliefs. For me, I was born in the Philippines,' but I work as an RN in the United States. By understanding the diverse nature of other cultures, nurses from diverse cultures are able to accommodate each other and work together in harmony. By making nurses comfortable and accepting their diversity they will be able to deliver their duties without much hindrances kind of warmth will increase their retention rate. It is key to note that by not understanding the culture of other nurses' discrimination can easily erupt, which make people uncomfortable and unwanted. Areas that are known to be accommodating of different types of the nurse from diverse backgrounds never have a shortage of them
Question Four
Contingency theory explains how a leader interacts with different situations in the dynamic healthcare environment. Through this kind of interaction, a leader can match the available material or human resources available to existing clinical or social needs ( Sullivan, 2018). A nurse plays a critical role as through her certain clinical needs can be identified and forward to the management, and solutions be developed within the shortest time possible. Nurses identify the different needs at an early stage, thereby averting possible chaos. I would feel privileged to work in a system where clinical needs of patients and nurses are heard and responded to within the shortest time possible, to foster continuity in quality care delivery.
Question Five
In the healthcare system, there are many different organizational structures. What makes healthcare unique from other businesses is that is deals with peoples’ lives, and there is no room for errors in this line of business. The matrix structure is particular the best because it integrates product and functional structure into one overlapping structure. With such kind of structure, decision making is easier and working on a specific project that requires multiple types of disciplines is made simple. By working as a team, positive results are always a guarantee.
