I am humbled to apply for a Master of Science in Global Studies and International Relations program at Northeastern University. I have great affection for global issues, which is why I am convicted that studying at Northeastern University will provide me the most excellent opportunity to excel. My admiration for the institution dates back to my undergraduate years. I knew I always wanted to be a part of the great university, which offers students from diverse backgrounds a platform to interact and share ideas. The very fact that global studies and international relations involves studying the world and interconnecting different events to determine their meaningfulness means that experience in multicultural settings would be a significant stepping stone.
Completing my graduate degree has always been my dream. My elder brother has already succeeded in his graduate education from Purdue University, Indiana and he always talks positively about the friendliness and richness of diversity of the students from graduate programs around the country. I feel that this is the percept moment for me to set off to the platform of opportunities at Northeastern University. My educational background provides me with the only experience I have in the program that I am applying for at the institution. I plan to build on the knowledge that I have gained this far through the development of my career, and upon graduation, I would like to work for the government. Specifically, I would want to be a diplomat or a foreign services officer. In addition to finding my dream job, I would like to influence the lives of millions of other aspiring scholars through contributing to the existing body of research in global studies and international relations. I understand that assuming this dual role would be quite challenging but my background has taught me that nothing is impossible with a committed attitude.

Most people speak fondly about graduate education, which is why I expect the program to challenge my perception of the world. I anticipate that the challenge will arise out of growth in knowledge about the different issues around the world. The program will also model my skills in communication, and other interpersonal skills that I believe are necessary for the development of an excellent graduate in the field. I have learned from the history of Northeastern University that it is committed to ensuring students attain the highest academic standards. Therefore, while I hope to have an enjoyable life at the institution, I feel that the pressure to succeed would be an additional experience. I hope to work with all tutors, professors, and instructors at the university since I cannot single out one of them as the most outstanding. The truth is that the institution has a great team of teaching and subordinate staff that collaborate to attain the standards that the university is reputed for. I am hopeful that I will contribute to the culture of proper discipline and hard work at the school because I firmly believe that I have such a background.
Apart from education and work, I am interested in mentoring others. I have significant levels of experience with this element since I have been working with my community in Capital Area Reach program in Washington DC that does community services including advising the youth on the career goals that they should focus on and the need for them to have specific ambitions in life. I know that most of the students at the institution have such goals, but I would be humbled if an opportunity would arise requiring my input either on or off campus. I would like the admissions board to understand that I am not a super person, but I never give up on my ambition to succeed. My classmates-to-be would benefit from my openness and positive attitude to life and career development.
