Everybody has certain behaviors that they prefer when choosing the type of team members that are required to fulfill a certain role. The most common feature that a team member must have is team spirit. A team player is the kind of person who contributes individually while still complementing the contribution of other members. The team player must also be qualified and experienced enough to be effective in their individual capacity.
These factors are among the two of the behaviors described by the CEO McDonnell in his video clip. McDonnell emphasizes on the importance of team work and suitability to the role. He also mentioned tolerance for certain roles. The behaviors that I was surprised were important were curiosity, better ways to do something and self-confidence. The explanation for curiosity was that the team player who was genuinely interested in the projects would find a better, faster and even cheaper way to accomplish tasks. According to McDonnell (n.d ), self-confidence also reduced the chances of sabotage and internal supremacy battles. The confident player was also more likely to support other players. We were also in agreement that a track record of success was important as an indicator of cohesion.

Being part of an unsuccessful team is stressful and unproductive. My team was poorly formed because it lacked the capacity to meet all the needs of the project. Duties were duplicated and it was impossible to rely on some to do what they were not qualified to do. Each duplicated member also had their own idea that was often contradictory to the person with the same skill set. Additionally, the players were in constant disagreement because of the extra work load. The team was unsuccessful because of duplicated skills, lack of staff with a track record of success and a lack of team spirit.
