Native Americans also known as American Indians are people who came from any of the many groups who already lived in North America before the arrival of the European (Bruce, 2006). The Native Americans face lots of social challenges; according to http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/ Indians among all the ethnic groups in the USA face high challenges such as low life expectancy, the highest rate of suicide, teenage pregnancy and suicide, and the highest rate of school drop outs. Drug abuse and alcoholism have led to high rates of crimes such as rape, child abuse, domestic violence, and theft. Many American Indians are not employed, and due to lack of employment many people especially the youths are idle and end up involving themselves in criminal activities. Poverty has also been a major problem for the Native Americans since the majority of them are not employed or those employed have low incomes, and they end up living in poverty. Native Americans are not fully accepted as Americans in the United States, and this makes them look inferior to their fellow Americans as they are not given the first attention but rather they are discriminated.

The Native Americans have discriminated since the past although their way of living has improved today at least discrimination of Native Americans is not publicly expressed as it was in the past this is because of the formation of the resistance movement in the past by Native Americans. Due to poverty as the Native Americans lack money to build, rent, or buy houses the Indians ends up living in overcrowded areas as due to lack of home large numbers of Indians live in the same house that cannot cater for them all. The outcome of lack of housing leads to poor hygiene and easy spread of diseases, and this has caused premature deaths among the Native Americans as when infected with diseases they do not have money for treatment, and they end up dying.
