The New Black Panther Party was formed to advocate for the rights of African Americans. However, the party is typically associated with terrorism since some of its members are radical Muslims. Despite this claims, the New Black Panther Party is not a terrorist organization since it resorts to extreme measures to counter the discrimination that lurks in American society.

Fundamentally, the New Black Panther Party fights against the racial inequalities that many Americans have to live with. African Americans are faced, with poverty, high criminal rates, teenage pregnancies low education attainment compared to whites living in the U.S. On that note, the party was formed to fight due to the negative issues associated with racism in the country and how they bring about social and economic inequalities in different societies ( Van Lier, 2020) . In addition, high concentration of poverty in minority communities makes it difficult for them to participate in other important activities which are crucial to the wellbeing of the country. The aim of the party is to show that for a society to progress, it must be willing to show more respect to its minorities to include them in different economic agendas it has established for its citizens ( Van Lier, 2020) . To achieve this, members of the party at times resort in unconventional forms of protest that are unfairly labeled as terrorist acts.

While the New Black Panther Party is associated with acts of terrorism, this is not the case as the movement was simply formed to fight discrimination in American society. While some of its members may be considered radical Muslims, the group is based on a solid ideology; fighting systematic oppression and racism within American society. Such a focus means that the group may resort to unconventional forms of protest that may be mistaken as terrorist acts.
