This orientation program is specially designed to provide our new employees with a positive experience in our school and to feed them with information that will make them relax hence facilitating an easy transition. The main gist is to establish a consistent method in the school in relation to how new recruits get orientated to their duties, their department of work, as well as the resources at their disposal. Essentially, the orientation process will be expected to last for a day.

Description of Events
Welcome and Introductions
Primarily, the HR manager will receive the employee and then guide him/her to the principal’s office so that they can familiarize with each other (Oregon State University, 2016). The HR and the principal will congratulate the new employee for showing a desire to choosing SouthWood School and express their hope of establishing a long-term relationship. Both the HR manager and the Principal will take their time to explain the Vision and Mission of the school (Oregon State University, 2016). They will also express the belief that the entire SouthWood fraternity has on the new employee following his/her remarkable credentials that enabled him/her to secure the job that had attracted many suitors.
Job Description
Starting new duties, especially in an unfamiliar environment may prove to be stressing at some point (Boston College, 2016). Essentially, in order to avoid anxiety and stress build up, our new employee will be taken through a departmental orientation. Concisely, the head of his /her department will guide the employee on the roles and responsibilities that he/she is expected to play. The head of the department (HOD) will take this opportunity to familiarize the new employee with other staff members as well as beseeching them to be cordial and helpful when the new recruit will be resuming duties. Typically, the HOD will introduce the new employee to his/her immediate supervisor who will be expected to provide the employee with limited but meaningful information that will make them view the task ahead of them as manageable.
Additionally, the supervisor ought to create an environment that is comfortable so that the employee does not feel bored on his/her first day of work (Boston College, 2016). The traditional approach whereby employees were given handouts and left alone to synthesize information during their first day of work are long gone thus our orientation will be a contact based so that a good rapport can be established between the new employees and other staff members. The supervisor will also be expected to share information about the dress code and the code of conduct that is deemed acceptable by the department. Finally, the supervisor will guide the new employee on how to go about certain pertinent issues such as sick leave.
Administration processes
The main mandate of the school administration is to enroll new students. The administration officer of SouthWood School will orientate the new employee through the protocols we observe during the administration process. Good enrollment practices are pivotal in ensuring that the school gets the cream of the society who will be a platform for elevating the performance of the school. In that regards, it would be imperative for the new employee to understand how the school carries out its administrative function and the justification of certain administrative actions. The administrative officer will elaborate on the need for active participation and the need for sharing information that would be essential in improving the performance of the school.
Financial Benefits
The school finance officer will take the new employee through the payroll system as well as provide him/her with an insight on the benefits he/she will receive when participating in specific activities or rather meetings (University of California Berkely, 2016). The officer will also give the employee information on how he/she can be given financial assistance in times of emergency or when in dire need of money.
Resources at Disposal
In modern times various resources are made available to employees so that they can work effectively. The IT officer of the SouthWood School will explain to the employee the various computer applications that are available in the institution, which can be of help to him/her while performing his/her, duties. The officer will also inform the employee about the training program that is available in that department, which helps the employees to maintain pace with technological advances. Information about membership and the need to have a secret log in details to certain accounts will also be provided to the new employee to ensure that his/her information is kept safely.
Terms of Employment and Moral Support
After visiting the various departments, the new recruit will have time with the HR manager to discuss the terms of his/her employment. This will stress on the information that was primarily shared with the finance officer about salaries plus the benefits the employee is likely to receive. Additionally, the HR will use that opportunity to encourage the employee to report to him/her (the HR Manager) any instances of abuse on him/her (University of California Berkely, 2016).
Q & A Session
The final session will take place at the principal’s office whereby the employee will be allowed to ask questions regarding his/her experiences of the day. He/she will also be given the opportunity to state his/her willingness/unwillingness to abide by the terms of employment. A positive response would see the Principal and the HR Manager welcomes him/her once again to the institute and pledging their allegiance to the new employee.
