For as long as I can recall, I have regarded education as an essential part of my life. From a very young age, I have always had a goal of pursuing a master’s degree in a business field. I was born in 1969, Kent England and grew up in St. Albans, Vermont. As a patriotic citizen, I have always been motivated to work for the government particularly in the national security sector. As such, I gained my US citizen-ship in 1988 and joined and served the United States Military Police for twenty-six years and. Currently, I am working with Homeland Security for the last one year.
Over the years, I have developed a strong interest in Business Administration. I believe that every person perusing a government career should have adequate knowledge in this field because it helps them stay on top of the changing work environment. As I work on my government career, I believe this degree will help me in many ways. Firstly, business administration is one of the most demanded courses in government jobs. It gives one a millage over other candidates with degrees in other fields. As such, my chances of rising to higher ranks in my job will increase as I continue to gain more experience. Secondly, the knowledge that one gains from a business administration degree can be applied in a wide field. I find it extremely essential in my current work. The degree will give me adequate knowledge on how to manage the resources at my exposure so that I can deliver the best services in my current job at Homeland Security. I have learnt over the years that I should do all that I can to provide top-notch service to my fellow citizens. Therefore, strongly believe that this degree will help me achieve this personal objective. Finally, at one point, everyone must retire from public service. In most instances, if a person did not develop themselves academically, retirement is usually a hectic ordeal. As such, a rich knowledge will help me overcome these challenges. After retirement, I will venture into personal business enterprises to help me continue to support my family as well as anyone who will need my help. Therefore, a master’s degree in business administration will help me manage these enterprises as well as ensure I do not incur losses and end up closing them down.

My working experience has prepared me in different ways. As a government officer, I deal with the interests of different people. Moreover, it is my duty to protect their interests and solve them to the best of my knowledge. Often, a government job is administrative in nature. As such, I have learnt to offer administrative services to serve the interests of all people who require our services. One of the most important lesson I have learnt is to be a team player. There are situations in which one person is inadequate to address some crucial burning issue. In such circumstances, teamwork is essential. My career in the Military and Homeland security requires a great deal of teamwork. As much as I have adequate knowledge in this field, I would like to advance my knowledge in administration in general so that I can enhance my services and teamwork contributions. The challenges that I have faced over the years have also taught me to seek constant knowledge as the world is evolving. The challenges that we are facing today will not be of the same nature in the next five years. As such, strong administrative skills are essential to handle them.
I believe Norwich University is the best institution that will help me achieve my educational goal. I have always desired to enrol in the university and become a part of its history. Its outstanding performance and leading research in the field of business administration over the years is a strong reason for me to enrol in a master’s degree in business administration in the institution.
