Nurse Managers have different roles, challenges, and responsibilities in their field, which help them establish the best leading skills. Some of the tasks that nurse managers have been playing a part in situations while challenges comprise of the difficulties they have to face in their management and responsibilities are their legal obligation toward their teams. In this paper, we are going to be comparing and contrasting the factors.
Roles and responsibilities can be classified as one since they both entail the obligations that can be conceptualized by individuals. The responsibilities include; managing their staff, recruiting new staff, records management, mentoring, scheduling, budgeting of equipment and finances required in their departments, developing educational plans and treatment planning for their patients (Duquesne, 2018). Some of the roles that nurse managers are involved in entail both staff working under them and patients.

On the other hand, nurse managers face challenges in their profession. Some of which include; staffing each managers’ units, ensuring that their staff are engaged in their jobs, management of behaviors that is performance management, controlling work boundary issues, understanding the business of healthcare, management of facilities finances and looking at variances, balancing their own and work lives, ensuring staff and patients stay focused (Sherman, 2017). The challenges faced are also concerned with staff and patients under their supervision.
As compared to roles and responsibilities, nurse management challenges are very hectic and can affect their performances. The change can be caused by the fact that problems involve controlling people behaviors while roles and responsibilities only entail making rules that their staff should follow. As for challenges, the managers have to do follow up on whether or not the rules are being followed. At the same time, they are expected to a positive outcome, and if something goes wrong, they are held responsible.
