How Are Changes in Reimbursement Shared with Nursing Staff
Healthcare reimbursement means the payment health care professionals receive after giving services. The reimbursement is not constant; they might rise or fall according to the income, resources, and quality of care in a hospital. In case there is a need for a change, the hospital board convenes a meeting where there discuss what needs to change and the reason or the changes and ensures that the changes will not affect patient care (Freire et al., 2019) . The board consists of representatives from all the departments, including the nursing department. Once they come up with the new reimbursements, they are different ways of communicating with the staff. One way is to draft an email that explains the changes and the effective date, call a staff meeting, or send the nurses representative to communicate the changes (Freire et al., 2019) .
Increasing Nursing Awareness on Health Care Financing Issues
The first way to increase nurses' knowledge about financial issues in the hospital is by involving them in financial plans. It can be through a nursing representative. Being part of the process, they will understand why the hospital prioritizes some activities and the allocation of funds to the different departments (Jones et al., 2018) . The second way is to educate the nurses on how their actions can positively or negatively affect the hospital's finances. Suppose they are not taught how their practice links with revenue and cost, and then they will not see the problem of being wasteful. The health and finances topic should also be included in the syllabus so that the nurses have the information before entering their workplace. Another way of making nurses aware of financial issues is by asking them to come up with their budget (Jones et al., 2018) . During the formation of the budget, they will have to research finances, and in the process, they will gain the knowledge needed in their practice.
