The relationship that occurs between leaders and followers is candid as leaders are known to lead, but followers follow. The contemporary times that are characterized with dynamicity in terms of technology and culture have provided followers with more powers. Followers have the potential to make or challenge the leader and having the goals are realized (Smith-Trudeau, 2017). Nurses who are good followers are supposed to support and help the leader, particularly when they are acting appropriately and be by the side of the leader. The followers need to be courageous to challenge the leader when something is not headed in the right direction.
Presently, leaders need to be cognizant of diverse kinds of people they deal with such as colleagues, clients, shareholders, and the public. Consequently, a follower teaches the leader to recognize the needs of other individuals and their ability to expose the organization to many challenges. As a nurse, it is significant to observe individuals or colleagues and comprehend what disappoints and encourages them (Moura, Bernardes, Balsanelli, Zanetti, & Gabriel, 2017) . As good followers meet a colleague with diseased radical political principles or offensive manager, they are able to cope with him or her. It is not going to be a fight back scenario. Thus, a nurse should learn how to forgive people for their disparities in perspectives. They must be willing to demonstrate a good attitude towards one another in spite of these differences.

Followers have the ability to make or break the leader and determine whether the goals will be accomplished or otherwise. Therefore, nurses should be committed to their work, despite the fact that leaders get credit most of the time. They should be able to provide quality and work as a team towards the goals of the organization. Good followers are critical thinkers. Oc & Bashshur (2013) indicate that best followers encourage and help the leader going in the right direction, but they are opposed to those doing the wrong things.
