Nursing Informatics for the Advanced Practice Nurse: Patient Safety, Quality, Outcomes, and Interprofessionalism

The quantity of health care data gathered through information systems including electronic medical records, patient registries, and portable sensors is also evolving with technology. The data undergoes evaluation and used to adjust the current protocols and therapeutic procedures in a relevant manner (McBride & Tietze, 2018). The informatics trend has a positive impact on advanced practice nursing in nursing homes and other US-based healthcare institutions. The exponential increase of bioinformatics transforms the way nurses document and interpret information about patients, treatment coordination, and the creation of evidence-based procedures. Apart from the influence on the everyday work of nurses, the enhanced use of computer technologies creates posts for practitioners who want to concentrate solely on the interface between nursing and information (McBride & Tietze, 2018). Such jobs for health care providers include medical information technology experts and clinical analyst. Excel in the development of healthcare informatics will involve cooperation between hospital administrators, nursing managers, nursing personnel, and medical institutions. In addition, nurses who do not play full-time involvement in data will have an interest in informatics as healthcare technology prevails.

The Role of Interdisciplinary Faculty in Nursing Education: A National Survey

As population health needs progress, nurses will start to develop interdisciplinary expertise to work with a wide range of disciplines, such as dental and psychological issues. Multidisciplinary training in health care and the ability of nurses to work among healthcare professionals from diverse fields provide students with the benefits of their shared learning experience (Smith et al., 2019). Interdisciplinary education also enhances inter-professional cooperation with a better understanding and collaboration in the workplace. Measures to interdisciplinary curriculum provide learning opportunities with peer-to-peer classes and modules, professional instruction through the learning experience with cross-disciplinary service management, and feasibility study student experience that combines the two aspects (Smith et al., 2019). Cross-disciplinary and multi healthcare education strategies are effective in the optimization of patient quality and reduction of healthcare costs. When diverse clinical care providers in multiple disciplines work together to handle the condition of a patient, diagnosis is more precise. As a result, there is less misdiagnosis of conditions, transfers, and trips to other medical facilities.

Development of a Tele-Nursing Mobile Manipulator for Remote Care-Giving In Quarantine Areas

Telenursing enables patients to communicate with their healthcare providers via mobile devices, laptops, mobile applications, visual and remote healthcare surveillance. Rather than confinement to in-person hospital settings, clients can contact their nurses and physicians from either place (Li et al., 2017). Telehealth technologies will allow hospital institutions to address the shortage of nursing care. The technology comes at a time when people with chronic diseases need improved care and support. Telehealth tools significantly improve productivity for nurses who offer care to customers in remote counties and sparsely inhabited areas (Li et al., 2017). The same equipment helps nurses obtain a constant track of the health status of patients. For such purpose, the nurses use peripheral instruments that substitute for conventional medical instruments such as catheters, thermometers, and heart rate monitors.

Response to Marlene

I agree with the viewpoint you have taken on nursing administration. I think artificial intelligence can impact the delivery of treatment on multiple fronts, save time on several activities like bladder screening or vein identification, as well as allow nurses sufficient room for other medical needs. Your attention on nursing education is exceptional. I acknowledge that the application of a virtual hospital as an educational technique will improve patient safety and maximize results. In my opinion, the advancement offers a way to encourage nursing students to develop analytical thought, professional decision-making and cognitive abilities in a safe supervised setting with no possible risk to a human patient. When talking about advance practice nursing, you took a unique approach. I think you are correct that patient advocacy promotes the needs of the patient as well as recognition of the vital role of the family. In my view, nurses attend medical team consultations with the patient and household members to discuss any communication challenges and to guarantee that guidance from the medical team is accurate and reliable.
