Many countries around the world have to deal with criminal issues committed by various people in their jurisdictions. Several information on criminal offence rates show that people aged 12 and older regularly take part in criminal activities. Moreover, a part from prosecuting people for engaging in different criminal offenses, law enforcement officers also have to grapple with the issue of criminal victimizations that occur while they try to maintain law and order by prosecuting the right offenders. In the process, some people end up being victims of various criminal charges as will be discussed herein. Therefore, it is important to look at the US official reports that detail various criminal and victimizations that have occurred in the country in the recent past. Specifically, the paper looks at criminal activities such as larceny, violence, drugs, and delinquency in relation to the official reports and victimization reports in the state.

A research study by the United States Sentencing Commission (2015) , reports that he national larceny rate was 1.3%, violence was 8.3%, drug offense rate was 31.9% and delinquency rate was 7.9% in 2015. The study also shows that the victimization was at 18.1 million people as at 2015. The report further indicates that even though the victimization rate dropped in 2015 it was still relatively high and was a major cause of concern. Most of the people became victims of crimes such as drug use, delinquency, and theft among many other small offenses. The line graph below represents the exact nature of official report and victimization findings between the year 2010 and 2015 in the US (BJS, 2015) .

The results of the represented data show that the rates of drug abuse offenses are still high in the Unites States. The study by the Bureau of Justice and Statistics sows that the rates of delinquency were low in the 1970s but increased significantly in the late 90s and the early 2000s. The study also shows an increase in the crimes relate to drugs especially in the 2000s. Larceny and violence rates also increased to a smaller in the 2000s. The victimization reports by Truman and Langton (2014) also shows that the rates of violence victimization have relatively decreased from 1993 to 2014. Larceny victimization also decreased by 20.1% as at 2014 (Truman & Langton, 2014) . Similarly, it is also clear that delinquency victimization rates and drug use rates also decreased relatively as shown by the victimization reports from 1993 to 2014 (Truman, 2010) .

Despite the noted decreases in the various criminal and victimization rates presented by the two reports, it is evident that the reports concerning drug use and violence and their sub sequent victimization reports showed some levels of discrepancies. The discrepancies in the changes in drug crimes existed because of the fact that ht e use of some drugs such as marijuana has been legalised in many states in the US (UCRPublications, 2013) . Moreover, some forms of the use drug issue are largely unreported hence causing the biases in the reports. The victimization of drug users also occur because some jurisdiction do not agree in what to report and what not to report in their criminal offence records. The reports on violence also have some levels of discrepancies because some violence crimes are not reported but instead are prosecuted in jail. The victimization rates pertaining to violence also shows some levels of discrepancies base on how they are reported, recorded and even prosecuted in various jurisdictions.
